Girls’ Challenge Cup Nationals:
I understand that in the first instanceI have to choose between the 4 piece and the 5 piece championships and cannot participate in both unless there are very unusual circumstances. ie. thatif a place becomes available in the March 5 Piece Championships and is offered to my team, but I have already entered for the 4 Piece Championships, I will be able to attend both competitions.
No somersaults are allowed and only one flic or aerial move in the voluntary floor.
Eligibility for the Girls’ 4 Piece Challenge Cup Competition
The I.S.G.A. National Challenge Cup for Girls’ is open to:
1)New Schools
2)Teams who do not qualify for the 5 Piece competition.
3)a) U9s: Schools choosing to enter the U9 Novice Challenge team category in the 2 Piece
competition earlier in the season.
b) U11s and U13s: Schools that were outside the top 10 in the relevant category at the previous year’s 5 Piece competition, ie for the under 11s – previous season’s under 10s or for the under 13s the previous season’s under 13s.
4)Other schools who believe their girls cannot achieve all the 5 Piece disciplines and only wish to
compete in the lower level 4 Piece competition this year, provided that in the current season’s 2
Piece competitions, if under 9s they did not finish in one of the top 8 places, and if under 11s and under 13s they did not finish in one of the first 2 places amongst those seeking qualification for the 5 Piece.
The Executive Committee reserves the right to veto schools entering teams if they are deemed unsuitable; for example it is not an option to choose to compete in the 4 Piece simply because the date proves to be more convenient for a school or a coach; nor for example, if a coach just wants to avoid doing a group sequence.
BOYS:
I understand that there are no qualification restrictions (other than age) on boys’ team entries.
------
I appreciate that for my entry to be accepted it must be accompanied by a valid affiliation number. This is only issued by the Treasurer after the annual affiliation fee has been paid by my school.
Restrictions: A school may only enter one team per age group: U9, U11, and U13.
As this is a national competition ‘B’ teams are not eligible.
I understand the deadline for entry for this competition is Monday 20th November 2017.
Photography: Official professional photographer/s will be invited to attend the championships, which by its very nature, is in the public arena. When entering for the event the schools, parents and participants acknowledge this fact, which may result in the recording of his/ her image. Their professional equipment is designed to take action shots without flashlight. The contact prints are displayed and can be selected, printed and purchased at the event. If any parents do not wish their child to be photographed, ie at the Presentation, it is left to individual schools to ensure that the child is removed before team photos are taken. The organisers cannot take responsibility for this. There will be a camera register which has to be signed by all spectators and staff if they intend to take photos on a camera, video or mobile device.
No flash photography is allowed during the competition by spectators as this is dangerous for the gymnasts.
Insurance: By entering this event, you confirm that your school has insurance in place to cover pupils, staff, volunteers and anybody else representing your school at this event. I.S.G.A. does not carry insurance to cover anybody representing your school at this event.
