The Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA) is the leading professional body representing archaeologists and heritage professionals working in the UK and overseas. We have a membership of 3300 individuals, with 80 Registered Organisations.

CIfAs annual conference is the premier archaeological conference in the UK, attracting c400 participants over the course of three days. Combining keynote addresses, wide-ranging sessions, training workshops and exhibitions, the CIfA conference provides an annual forum for discussing current professional issues, showcasing new developments and presenting research in archaeology and the wider heritage sector.

It provides an excellent opportunity for stakeholders, clients and providers to gain direct contact with heritage professionals. Packages can be tailored to your needs – just get in touch on the details given below and we can discuss this with you.

Who attends? The conference attracts heritage professionals and early career entrants, all looking to develop their knowledge on policy and practice issues, and enhance their skills. Delegates represent professionals working across the heritage sector. From local government curators and planning archaeologists, national heritage bodies, volunteers, consultants, company directors and staff, independent specialists, academics, and industry partners, the CIfA conference attracts a full professional spectrum.

How to book. Complete the attached booking form and return it to us. We recommend that you book early as there are limited spaces for both exhibitors and advertisers. A late fee of £25 will be applied to exhibitors after 1 February 2018.

If you’d like to discuss anything in more detail please get in touch with us.

Networking. The conference provides a great platform for networking – not just in the exhibition and catering hall, but at our social events. Make sure you check out the evening events on offer when you book your place to maximise your networking time

Help us support delegates... we are offering sponsors the opportunity to support a travel bursary for £50 - just tick the box on the form and we will do the rest.

Please contact our team to discuss options at or look up the conference webpage at:
