Farewell
To Ari and Shushanah Yasgur. We have enjoyed having them here during their brief sojourn in DC, and look forward to holding them to their promise to visit often.
To Yaakov and Adina Spiegel, who are spending their last Shabbat with us before moving to Toronto. Adina writes, “As we move to Canada this coming weekend, we'd like to thank Rabbi and Rebbetzin Frendel and the entire Kesher communityfor their warmth and kindness to us over these past few years.” We wish the Spiegels all the best as they begin this new chapter in their lives.

The congregation extends its sympathies to Josh Van De Riet on the passing of his grandmother, Bernice Massey of Fairfax, Virginia.

Annual Congregational Meeting and Board Elections
Kesher Israel will hold its annual congregation meeting on Monday, June 23, at 7:15 PM. The board will report on the state of the shul and we will elect a new board for the coming year. The following slate has been submitted by the nominating committee for members’ consideration:

Elections for the Board of Directors will take place at theAnnual Meeting on Monday, June 23 at 7:15pm.
· All members in good standing are eligible to vote.
· Each individual membership confers one (1) vote
· Each family membership confers one (1) vote per member of the family over the age of 18, with a maximum of two (2) votes per family.
Elections shall take place in the order listed above.Any member who has been nominated, either on the slate above or via notification to theNominating Committee, shall be eligible for election to any office regardless of the office for which such person's name was submitted. All members in good standing are strongly encouraged to attend this important meeting.

Adult Education Update: Transition to Summer
As summer approaches, some of the classes are on hiatus, but others are continuing. The Gemara class with the Friedman Kollel continues on Monday nights one hour before mincha, preceded by falafel 15 minutes before the start of the class. The Monday night Beginners Hebrew class and the Rabbi's Wednesday night classes are on hiatus. The Tuesday night Sefer Yeshayahu class will not meet on Tuesday, June 17th, but will meet on Tuesday, June 24th, at 7:15pm for the final class of the year.
Tzvi Daramblum Memorial Rabbinic Intern
We are pleased to announce that Jared Anstandig will be ourTzvi Daramblum MemorialRabbinicIntern for 2014-15. Jared has an MA in Biblical studies and BAs in both Judaic Studies and Psychology and expects to get Smecha from RIETS in May 2016. The Rabbinic Intern committee would like to thank the Kesher community for its kindness andgenerosityin opening their homes andtheir shabbat tables to our previous rabbinicinterns. If you would like to host Jared for either a Shabbat or for a meal this upcoming year, please e-mail Howie Slugh at or call the shul office.

To respect the privacy of women using the mikvah, please do not use the kelim (utensil) mikvah after sundown.
It’s getting hot out, but the hottest ticket in town all year round is daily minyan at Kesher!
