Mission & Philosophy
Enable young people to develop their full human potential and sports to achieve their highest level of excellence in ski racing. Create and sustain a respectful environment that nurtures teamwork, collaboration and unity so that each athlete is allowed to reach its best.
Ski racing is a means to develop the human being on aspects such as:
- Develop the spirit of competition and performance
- Surpassing oneself by training
- Developing physical skills, social and psychological
- Develop and maintain good habits
- Learn a life ethics

U 12 (10- 11)
LTAD Stage:
Learning to Train (Girls 9 - 11 years / Boy 9 - 12 years)
Priorities:
- Consolidate and refine the basic technical skills by playing at the ski competition.
- Introduce the general fitness components related to competitive skiing by organizing team training and other sports.
Program:
Sport: 50 days on snow
Performance: 75 days on snow
In order to provide the best coaching to everyone and to respect the level of development of all, the U12 youths can choose between 2 separate programs. A 50-day sport program (Sport Program) and a more advance program based on ACA's long-term development program (Performance Program)
U12 General Purpose
At this level, the child should be able to ski in control in most ski conditions. It will be introduced to the tactical (race line, make good decisions, understanding of various figures in slalom, Initiation with long gate in SL ...)
It will acquire the technical skills base of the alpine skiing:
- Ability separation
- Use of poles
- Use of all joints
- Natural and Dynamic Movements
- Carving on the outside ski
It will also include two phases of the turn without master perfectly:
- The execution phase
- The transition phase
The technical and tactical work is done through the consolidation of fundamental skills such as:
- Agility
- Coordination
- Balance
- Speed of movements execution
Introduction of sports psychology development activities and implementation of mental preparation routines initially in training and racing.

Means of action:
- Free skiing (in free skiing, ski moguls, ski in the glades)
- Skiing in the course (educational courses, full courses, timed)

- 5-day regional races (1 GS, SL peg 25 mm SL baby gate, Kombi, duel)
- 2 days: provincial event on invitation only

U 14 (12-13)
LTAD stage:
Learn to compete (girls 11-15 years / Boys 12 -16 years old)
Priorities:
- From start to finish, ski as fast as possible without falling and without assistance, while demonstrating excellent technical abilities.
- Develop the specific physical condition for competitive skiing, build the machine, refine the skills specific to the disciplines.
Programs:
Sport: 50 days on snow
Performance: 65 -85 days on snow
Excellence: 100 days on snow (min 6 & max 12 racers)
In order to offer the best coaching to everyone, the club offers 3 programs U14 possible:
- The weekend sports program for those who wish to perfect their skiing technique while having fun in an atmosphere of competition. There is also possibility to make camps or extra days à la carte.
- Performance program of 65 or 85 days on snow. This program is for those who want to do more while maintaining some flexibility with the club and the school. There is also possibility to make camps or extra days à la carte.
- The Excellence program recognized by the DLS and SQA. This 100 days’ snow program offers an annual coaching by a certified Performance Level coach. It meets the criteria of the LTAD program of SQA and ACA. It is aimed at racers who wish to dedicate themselves to alpine skiing in order to move towards the elite.
U14 General objective:
Continue the development of various aspects of life skills (agility, coordination, balance and speed) developed at U12.
However, skier development will be also working on the biomechanical aspects of alpine skiing such as:
- The Impulse
- The angular motion (torque & coiling)
- Linear motion (momentum)
- The alignment and control of external forces
- Stability & Mobility
- Velocity
- Principle of direction
As well as the following tactical aspects:
- Play with the racing line
- Decision making
- Recognition of special situation in course
The scenarios in the course of GS, SL and skill will be more numerous than in U12. The skier will also be introduced to speed by the super G. However, skiing
education continues to occupy a good part of the training.
The skier also learn the different sequences of training:
- warm up,
- activation
- cool down
Introduction to visualization techniques and awareness is the mental preparation before races.

U 16 (14-15)

General Purpose U16
Develop a racer according to ski from start to finish, as quickly as possible without falling and without supervision. At this age, we will initiate the specialization of the skier to race focusing on scenarios that relate to race more often in training.
Technique:
Improve the basic skiing skills. Bring the athlete to use the appropriate biomechanical mechanisms for maximum performance (acceleration on the turn, extend the maximum gliding phase, etc.)
tactics:
Bring the athlete independence from better decision making in training status and race (being able to read the racing line, use adequate strategies to deal with different disciplines and diverse backgrounds, be able to react as quickly as possible facing a particular situation, adapting his skiing style in various environments). Reinforce the importance of the training sequence in a day (warm-up, activation and Cool down)

LTAD Stage:
Train to compete (girls 15-21 years / Boy 16 -23 years)
Priorities:
- Optimize physical preparation for competitive skiing
- Master the competition-specific competition skills.
- Learn the winning strategies.
Programs:
Sport: 65 days on snow
Performance: 100 days on snow
Excellence: 125 days on snow (min 6 & max 8 racers)
In order to offer the best coaching to each, the club offers 3 possible FIS programs:
- The weekend sports program including Fridays (sport program) for those who wish to improve their skiing technique while having fun in an atmosphere of competition. There is also possibility to make camps or extra days à la carte. Number of start to be determined and not included.
- The Performance program of 100 days on snow. This program is for those who want to do more while maintaining some flexibility with the club and the school. There is also possibility to make camps or days of extras à la carte and training on Thursdays night in Sommet St-Sauveur. Number of start to be determined and not included.
- The Excellence program recognized by SQA. This 125-day snow program offers annual coaching by a certified Performance Level coach as well as a fitness coaching offered by a certified physical trainer. It meets the criteria of the LTAD program of SQA and ACA. It is aimed at runners who wish to dedicate themselves to alpine skiing in order to move towards the elite. The program includes around 30 departures included in the program.
Goal
Improve the skier at the technical and tactical while causing the racer to a range of his training. The specialization of the racer will be through seasonal or annual planning in order to prepare the athlete to perform at the races.
Technique:
Perfecting skiing skills. Customize the style skier to maximize its performance.
Tactics:
Bring the athlete to make the best decisions; relative to the line, the technique, facing each situation.
Psychological:
Strengthening various mental preparation techniques.

Introduction to "coaching" by participating in the training level 1 CSCF / ACA offered by SQA
