9 AM – 4 PM

To focus on, and encourage, a safe environment while working on gourd projects, the VLGS will be separating the gourd art show from the gourd workshops. The workshops will be during the summer, outside at the Lions Shelter in at the Frederick County Parks and Recreation Sherando Park overlooking a lake. We plan to make the weekend a fun and home-y event where the noise and dust can be mitigated with good ventilation. We hope you join us!

Event Details

  • Instructors will rent a workshop space and be responsible for confirming student acceptance and collecting class fees.
  • A workshop space is two 4x8 commercial picnic tables placed end-to-endto comfortably seat, with ample room, 8-10 students.
  • Instructors promote proper safe hearing, eye, and breathing precautions.
  • A workshop space is $25/one day, $40/both days [VLGS members: $15/one day, $30/both days].
  • Workshop length is determined by instructor; we anticipate sessions to run 9 AM – 12 Noon and 1 – 4 PM (allowing for a one hour lunch break)

Teacher Requirements

  • Because we are working on a short timetable, the completed application is due by March 15, 2017.
  • Please send application(s), a good quality photo of the finished project (or digital image),and fee (checks payable to VLGS) to: Angela Mohr at VLGS, P.O. Box 3, Stephens City, VA 22655.
  • Confirmation of application receipt will be sent emailed.
  • Instructors are responsible for confirming student acceptance, collecting fees, and confirming cancellations.

Instructor fee to reserve a workshop space [two 4x8 commercial picnic tables, placed end-to-end] is $25/one day and $40/two days [VLGS members $15/one day; $30 two days].Instructors are responsible for confirming student acceptance, collecting fees, and confirming cancellations.
