Cancellations: Cancellations are accepted provided that Notts YFC is notified by 12.30 p.m. on Thursday 23rd April 2015, In respect of cancellations, the
Admission Ticket must also be returned to the Notts YFC Office prior to the 8th May 2015. Failure to comply will result in a fine being levied for the non- arrival of each competitor. Competitors will be fined and receive minus marks for each individual class entered which they have not completely judged, i.e. placed animals in order and given reasons, or that they have not arrived to judge. The fines will be at the discretion of the Chief Stewards.
Details: Entry into any stock judging class entitles the competitor to a free admission ticket to the show, however, if any competitor does not arrive to one or more classes they are entered in the club will be invoice for the value of their ticket.
As the horse judging is taking place prior to the show this year, entry into this class alone will not entitle the competitor to a free admission ticket.
Membership: Please do not send entry forms in with non member’s names on.
Membership forms for those entering exhibits must be received before this entry form. Entries will not be recorded for non members.
Eligibility:
Open - Members must be aged 30 and under on 1 September 2014 (Note: National Eliminators will still be 26 years of age and under on 1 September 2014.)
Intermediate - Members must be aged 21 and under on the 1st September 2014.
Junior - Members must be aged 16 and under on the 1st September 2014.
Presentation: The Presentation of Trophies will take place at the YFC Marquee on Sunday 10th May 2015, at appox. 4:00pm, directly following the grand parade Sunday 11th May 2014 commencing at 4.00 pm.
Chief Stewards: Jem Hill (Show Chairman) Callum Kendall (Show Vice Chairman), Jo Turvey and Jack Tooley
Stock Stewards: Eddy Allen, Sophie Goddard, Will Hill, Jack Brassett and Dave Underwood
General Rules: a) Sturdy Shoes MUST be worn (not flip flops). Competitors will not be allowed to judge if unsuitable footwear is worn.
b) White Coats MUST be worn by competitors when competing in any of the Stockjudging Classes. If White Coats are not worn then 15 style marks will be deducted.
c) Only competitors and officials will be allowed in the rings during judging. Competitors must not communicate with any person during the time of judging other than a steward on penalty of disqualification.
d) A minimum of 5 entries would have to be received by the closing date or the class will not run.
e) In the event of there being more than 20 entries in any class, the class will be divided for the giving of reasons.
f) The Nottinghamshire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs reserve the right to change any breed or cancel any class at no notice to competitors. In the event of a Class cancellation, entry monies will be refunded.
g) The Nottinghamshire Federation of Young Farmers' Clubs shall not be responsible for any accident or injury to any person or animal or loss of property however caused during the Show.
Horse Judging: Each competitor shall judge the same ring of horse and will be required to place them in the order of merit and state their reasons for doing so to the judge. Stewards reserve the right to alter the conditions which special circumstances may necessitate. Fifteen minutes will be allowed in total for the placing of the animals.
The ring will comprise of four animals designated ABYX. Two minutes will be allowed for the stating of reasons to the judge. In so doing competitors should be comparative rather than descriptive.
Stock judging: In Stockjudging Classes, four animals are to be judged on Commercial and/or breed.
All Beef Classes - 10 Minutes will be allowed for placing and 2 minutes for giving reasons.
All Dairy Classes - 10 Minutes will be allowed for placing and 2 minutes for giving reasons.
All Sheep Classes - 1 minute for inspection (no handling), 7 minutes for handling (in groups). No Sheep may be turned up. 2 minutes parade/inspection, no handling, 2 minutes for giving reasons.
Cards will be supplied to competitors on which must be marked the order of competitor’s placing. The tear-off section of the card to be used for making notes. No other papers or literature may be taken into the Ring.
