Motor Groups
“Let’s Write”- A systematic method of teaching handwriting skills in a developmentally appropriate manner. This group is geared toward children entering Kindergarten. Maximum group size:4($190 per child) - includes book & kit2-30 minute sessions (12 sessions)
“Twist and Shout” (Sensory Motor) - Children will learn to integrate all their senses by participating in activities that challenge their senses of balance, movement, touch, hearing and vision. Obstacle courses, music, swings, etc. will be available. Maximum group size:4 (ages 3-5) ($150 per child)60 minute sessions
“Yoga for Kids”– Yoga is an exercise that focuses on physical movements, breathing, and stretching. Performing yoga can improve muscle strength, flexibility, balance, coordination, motor performance, and body awareness as the body constantly changes positions. Maximum group size: 5 (ages 3-5) ($150 per child) 60 minute sessions (Nassau only)
Social Skills Intervention & Parent Training
“Social Skills Program”
Enhance social acceptance by providing a therapeutic environment where children can learn to make and keep friends
Target behaviors including taking turns, asking for help, initiating conversation, joining social groups, expressing feelings appropriately and “reading” body language.
Maximum group size: 5(ages 3-5) ($225 per child) 60 minute sessions
“Parent Training”
Parent participation and involvement is an integral part of each child’s program. The family/parent trainer will assist in broadening the parental knowledge base of the diagnosis and interventions related to your child’s diagnosis. Families are taught strategies that enable them to contribute to their child’s learning at home and in theircommunity. In addition, the parent trainer can address any on-going concerns.

Speech and Language Groups
“Articulation Station”(Articulation) – These groups will focus on increasing the ability to discriminate between sounds and produce sounds in isolation, syllables and words. A different sound class will be targeted weekly. Maximum group size:4 (ages 3-5)($150.00 per child) 60 minute sessions
“Language and Laughs”(Language) - These groups will provide reinforcement in all areas of language including following directions, vocabulary, grammar and social skills. Maximum group size: 4(ages 3-5)($150 per child)60 minute sessions
“Ready, Set, Kindergarten”-It’s time to get ready for kindergarten! This group will focus on pre-academic and core curriculum skills. Children will practice their listening, writing, scissor and other pre-academic skills including numbers, letters and colors. (ages 4-5)Maximum group size:6($150per child)60 minute sessions
“Roots of Reading” (Pre-Reading Skills) – Based on the Wilson Fundations Reading Program. Utilizing a multi-sensory approach, children will begin to master letter formation and sound-letter association. Maximum group size: 5(ages 4-5)($190per child)60 minute sessions
“Lidcombe Lunch Bunch”
This group is for children and their parents who are currently participating in the Lidcome Program of Early Stuttering intervention or have completed this program. The purpose of this group is for children to reinforce stutter-free speech while interacting with peers during crafts, games, share time and a meal provided by the parent. The parent group provides a forum for discussion of stuttering and the Lidcombe Program, share strategies and ask questions about the future of their child’s stuttering. Parents and children meet in separate groups. Each group is led by an experienced Lidcombe therapist. Children bring their lunch and a “Show-and-Tell” item to each session. Maximum group size:5(ages 3-5) ($240per child & parent)60 minute sessions
“Pragmatic Language Group” (Social Use of Language)These groups encourage children to use socially appropriate language to request, respond, comment and converse. Maximum group size:4(ages 3-5) ($150.00 per child)60 minute sessions
Feeding Groups
These groups are designed for “picky eaters” who have a limited number of preferred foods. Children experience different food textures and tastes in a non-threatening environment. They are encouraged to explore the food with all their senses and use language skills to talk about the food’s properties. Tasting and eating the foods are encouraged but children are not forced to eat the foods presented. Groups are led by licensed speech therapists. Maximum group size: 4 (ages 3-5)($325 per child/includes food) 60 minute sessions.

Kindergarten can be challenging particularly for children with a history of speech, language and/or motor delays. NYS has implemented the Common Core Curriculum since September 2012. This curriculum details what children should be able to accomplish at various grade levels. Our programs follow the Pre-K Common Core guidelines for reading, writing, and mathematics.
