The event will feature a Keynote Speech from Robert X. Cringely. For eight years from 1987-95, Robert X. Cringely wrote the "Notes From the Field" column in InfoWorld, a weekly computer trade newspaper. He is also the author of the best-selling book "Accidental Empires: How the Boys of Silicon Valley Make Their Millions, Battle Foreign Competition, and Still Can't Get a Date." Most recently, NerdTV is the new weekly online TV show from PBS.org's Cringely. In addition, he is the host and writer of the hit PBS-TV miniseries "Electric Money," and "Triumph of The Nerds." Cringely's work has appeared in The New York Times, Newsweek, Forbes, Upside, Success, Worth, and many other magazines and newspapers.
The conference itself includes three tracks each day and these include sessions focusing on some of the hottest topics. For example, there are sessions on domain name technical and legal issues, competitive intelligence, and organic search. For those involved in SEM (Search Engine Marketing) and advertising there are a number of sessions including a beginners session for those learning PPC, and more in-depth sessions on bid management techniques, conversion and ROI.
Additionally, there are specific sessions on affiliate site marketing and optimisation, link building, shopping search, European search, and one titled "Big Site - Big Brand - Big SEO."
There are two special Super Sessions: One Super Session features everyone's 'A-list' speakers from the big search engines, and another Super Session on Blogging for Fun and Profit. The Search Super Session has been affectionally called the 'search engine smack down session' and features Tim Mayer from Yahoo!, Matt Cutts from Google, Rahul Lahiri from Ask Jeeves, and Eytan Seidman from Microsoft/MSN. The other super session features Jeremy Zawodny of Yahoo!, well known marketing bloggers Andy Beal and Barry Schwartz, Mark Fletcher from Blog Lines, and LockerGnome's Chris Pirillio.
The conference will also feature Link Building Questions and Answers and Organic Search Site Search Reviews panelled by the industry's top businesses and consultants.
"We're having a special 'Coffee Talk' session with Matt Cutts, one of Google's senior engineers." said Brett Tabke, WebmasterWorld's CEO. "We'll be covering many Google topics including, what can we do to prevent duplicate content issues, the status of the redirect issue, will we ever see more old fashioned updates, or is the dance dead, and what is next for Google? We'll also cover issues related to the latest Google update, named 'Jagger' by WebmasterWorld. Matt's unique style and extensive knowledge will make this a session a hit with webmasters.
"It's probably coincidental that the Rolling Stones are playing in Vegas that week, but Matt Cutts has been called, the "Mick Jagger" of search. Cutts has been Google's lead webmaster, SEO, and SEM community liaison, and he has been a one-man outreach program." said Tabke.
