STRAND SELECON AURORA CYC SPECIFICATION.
GENERAL.
A.) Overview.
1.) The Aurora Cyc shall be a purpose-designed fixture designed for interior stage, studio and display lighting applications. It shall be constructed from custom aluminum extrusions and sheet metal. The finish is to be a high temperature epoxy powder coated black.
2.) The housing of the Cyc shall be of sheet metal, joined by threaded screws to extruded aluminum extrusion, combining strength and rigidity with minimum weight.
3.) The unit shall be able to be used from a minimum distance of 4ft from the base of the rear stage wall or cyclorama.
4.) Each unit shall have a hinged color cassette for convenient filter replacement, and a safety glass to offer the highest level of protection from exploding filament lamps. Each unit shall have a dual chamber system to maximize filter life.
5.) A separate anchor safety point shall be provided.
6.) The Cyc shall have an asymmetrical reflector of extruded textured aluminum, ensuring a high degree of uniformity between units. Tabbed sheet metal is not acceptable.
7.) The fixture shall be designed for use with a 500 watt or 1000 watt lamp with a R7 lamp socket, with porcelain body and integral aluminum outer shell.
8.) The internal access shall be through the front of each unit, via the hinged color cassette. A double microswitch cutout shall be used to fully electrically isolate the lampholders when the color cassette is opened.
9.) Relamping shall be possible without having to change the focus position of the fixture.
10.) Suitable lamps for the unit shall be:
a.) 120V FFT 1000W 26,450 lumens 400hrs average life.
11.) The Cyc shall have a steel yoke for top suspension. A friction disc and heat insulated hand knob shall be mounted on the end section for tilt lock.
12.) The Cyc shall be supplied with a suspension bolt, one washer and nut for attachment to an approved clamp for suspension.
13.) Provision must be made for the fitting of a standard DIN plate.
14.) The fixture shall comply with international safety standards and be ETL, cETL listed to UL standard 1573.
