The College of William and Mary – NIAHD Pre-Collegiate Summer Program in Early
American History
Students will earn college credit that will teach early American History “on-site” through the use
of historic places, including surviving structure, archaeology sites, and museums. Students will
attend daily discussion seminars to analyze readings written by acclaimed historians and will
expand their writing skills with online journals as they compare and contrast historic sites with
historians’ interpretations.

Outdoor Leadership Institute (OLI).
Blue Sky Fund will lead crews of 10 rising 9th,10th, and 11th grade students (separate boys’ andgirls’ programs) from diverse backgrounds to come together to build teamwork, confidence, leadership, and community involvement. The summer institute centers on a 5 day backpacking trip to Mount Rogers, the highest Peak in Virginia, during which crew members learn, through challenges, how to strengthen their leadership and teamwork skills. The crews will meet for an intensive 2 week session during the summer. The first 4 days, crews will meet Monday thru Thursday, 9:00am-1:30pm. The next 5 days Friday thru Tuesday of the program, the crews will go on a 5 day backpacking trip. Once the crews return, the crews will have Wednesday off to rest and then will finish the program Thursday thru Saturday to celebrate their accomplishments and learn more about servant leadership and race from 9:00am-1:30pm.

NYC Fashion Summer Camps for High School Students…
Banson NYC is excited to offer 3 NYC Fashion Summer Camps for high school students in
2013. They are designed for teens entering 9th through 12th grades. Each week-long session will teach students the fundamentals of the fashion industry by providing an insider’s perspective. Students will stay at the LIM College dorms on the Upper East Side. All rooms have double or triple occupancy (based upon availability), have 24 hour security, hall RA’s, private bathrooms, flat screen TVs, free local and long distance phone service, a microwave, fridge and freezer as well as access to a 24 hour gym in the building. Our camps run from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday-Friday so check in will be between 1:00 – 3:00 pm on Sunday and check out will be between 10:00 – noon on Saturday. We accept applications on a first come, first served basis.

VA Forestry Camp
The Virginia Department of Forestry, in cooperation with natural resource conservation agencies and organizations, has proudly administered Holiday Lake Forestry Camp for more than 60years. This unique camping experience has introduced young Virginians to the challenges, special skills and knowledge needed for managing the forest resources we use and enjoy every day.
Holiday Lake Forestry Camp is ideal for students:

Randolph-Macon College welcomes students from local high schools to enroll in our SummerSession. Recent graduates may be interested in getting a jump-start on their college coursework;other students may be interested in earning dual-enrollment credit to strengthen their college applications. Still others may be interested in pursuing an academic discipline in which they have an interest. Students not currently enrolled at R-MC need only complete the Summer Session Online Application.
Randolph-Macon’s Summer Session offers two overlapping sessions and students may register for classes in either or both sessions. The dates of Session II will likely fit best with your own school’s academic calendar. The dates for the two sessions are as follows:

The Sewanee Environmental Institute (SEI) Pre-college Field Studies Experience is now accepting applications for the Summer 2013 program. Deadline for applying is April 10th.

Children’s Hospital of Richmond at VCU, Brook Road Campus and Therapy Centers offers a
Junior Volunteer Program for 14-17 year old students who are interested in the healthcare profession. We will offer two sessions that will run July 1st through July 31st and August 1stthrough August 30th. To qualify for this program students must be enrolled in school with at least a “C” average, be 14 years of age by June 1, 2013, provide a physician health assessment and two character references (one must be from a school counselor or teacher).
