Branding Update

As we transition to the New AECOM, it’s important that our messaging and communications are consistent.

Answering the Telephones

All main telephones in each office transitioning to the unified AECOM brand should immediately be answered “AECOM” rather than your legacy operating company name. For example:

“Hello, AECOM, the new face of name of appropriate legacy Operating Company. How may I direct your call?”

AECOM Night Service

The after-hours general office recording should be re-recorded similar to this sample:

Thank you for calling AECOM in location the new face of name of appropriate legacy Operating Company. Our normal business hours are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. If you know your party’s extension you can dial it at any time, for a company directory please press 1. If you would like to leave a message in our general mailbox please press 2. Thank you for calling AECOM.

Outgoing Voicemail Greeting

Voicemail greetings on both your land line and your cell phone (if applicable) must refer to you as an employee of “AECOM” or “AECOM’s <descriptor> group,” rather than your legacy operating company. If you have a company-provided cell phone or BlackBerry, you need to include this phone number in your contact directory and should provide it in your voice message for your office direct line. A “sample” voicemail greeting is:

“Hi, this is Phil Smith, remediation engineer in AECOM’s <include descriptor, if appropriate> group, the new face of name of appropriate legacy Operating Company, and AECOM’s global team of <insert business line> professionals. I’m either on the phone or away from my desk, so please leave a message after the tone or dial 0 for an operator…”

For your information

Client communications

An organized effort is underway to communicate the AECOM changes to our top clients through letters. Our senior leaders and key client contacts have received guidance on sending these letters and following up with these clients.

We have a very positive message to convey about the strengths of our combined organization, and we want to start communicating these more broadly. You can find the client key talking points on the AECOM intranet site at: [Insert url]

Please contact [insert manager here] if you’re unable to access this page.

Marketing Materials

Marketing groups will be preparing marketing materials (templates, collateral materials, etc.) utilizing the Interim Image Guidelines. Until these new materials are available, please continue to use in-house materials with legacy Operating Company branding. If you have any questions or need access to the image guidelines, please contact your corporate marketing or communications team members. During November 2009, new materials will be developed to reflect the new and final AECOM brand. Please avoid the independent development of marketing materials during this interim period.

You can find outmore information regarding AECOM’s interim branding guidelines on the intranet Brand Center.

Company Names and Brand Names

During this interim period, we are transitioning our registrations and business licenses globally. Before submitting any proposal, please consult with the legal department for the latest updates to the firm’s legal name. For more information, please contact [insert name here].

Apparel, Promotional Items and Signage

We discourage the investment in any permanent solutions during this interim period as our visual identity will be changing in November 2009. During this period of transition, only materials with a short shelf life should be produced. If you need to order promotional items during this period, please limit your order accordingly.

During this period of transition, existing signs should remain in place. If signs must be produced during this interim period, banners or other temporary solutions should use only the AECOM logo. Consulting a qualified professional sign fabricator early in the process can help determine the best approach for temporary internal or external signs.

Exhibits/Conferences

As appropriate, update your exhibit booth signage and materials during this interim period to reflect the organizational change to AECOM. However, do not invest in permanent exhibit booth designs at this time.

A final note

You can find more information regarding AECOM’s interim branding guidelines on the corporate intranet by going to “Understanding and Embracing the New AECOM” then “Branding.”

Please be sure that all of these policies are implemented immediately to ensure consistent messaging across AECOM. We appreciate your cooperation in elevating AECOM’s brand to our clients and business partners.

If you have any questions regarding any of these items, please feel free to direct them to your local marketingdepartment, district manager, or Jessica Anderson, .
