Things to Remember Punch List

1- Keep baggage to 60 pounds. (Best to use 2 smaller kitbags rather than 1 large duffle).

2- Guns will be removed from hard-shell cases and put into soft-shell cases to transport to fly in camps. Hard cases are fine for spring bear hunts. We supply the soft shell cases.

3- Please insure you have a valid passport.

4- Need to supply outfitter with proof of previous big game license or a hunter’s safety course.

5- Please make sure your hotel reservations are made well in advance at the comfort inn. Phone number is 1-709-753-3500.When calling please wait on the line for the hotel operator to answer. Do not press 2 for reservations as you will be put to a third party. Remain on the line and the operator will answer.

6- Please notify us of any allergies or medical conditions you might have so we are prepared to deal with them to the best of our knowledge. All our guides are trained in first-aid and CPR.

7- When arriving at the airport please make sure to keep in touch with me to let me know of any changes. The phone numbers are listed above.

8- Hunting packages must be paid in full 45 days before date of hunt, by certified cheque or money order. Hunters will not be brought to camp if there is any balance owing.

9- Deposits are non-refundable, but transferable to another hunter, or same hunter in the same calendar year.

10- Alcoholic beverages can be purchased and brought to camp. We want everyone to have a great time, but we will not allow hunting if you are under the influence.

11- When traveling in vehicle or on ATV ammunition can not be in the magazine or chamber. Do not chamber your shells until you are sure you are going to shoot.Travelling around in the bush with shells chambered and safety on are unacceptable and will not be tolerated. The only exception is setting in a bear stand.

12- If you miss your charter to camp you are responsible for the cost of it. If you want to leave camp before the scheduled time of departure you are responsible for the cost of any air charter or ground transportation. Air Charters are close to $400.00, and ground transportation is $150.00.

13- Things you should have with you to bring to camp.

- knee rubbers

- sleeping bag

- flashlight

- warm clothes, including caps and gloves

- Fly repellent or thermo cells

- Camera for great pictures

- if bear hunting you may want a scent lock suit

- If bow hunting you may want to bring your range finder

- Binoculars

- Sun Glasses

- Sun screen 15 or better

- Medications, prescription and non prescription.

- GUNS, BOWS, AMMUNITION and a good eye!

- Cell phones do work in most locations and are a good form of communication in the bear stands.

14- When arriving in st.johns Newfoundland we do pick up our customers at the airport. If for reason we do not be there due to circumstances beyond our control you just call 1-709-753-3500 and ask for the comfort inn shuttle they will be there for you imediatedly. When you clear customs and come out in the main area of the airport there is a information center there. The lady there will gladly call the shuttle for you.

15- We will pick you up on Sunday morning to bring you to camp, and return the following Sunday.

16- If you are bringing your firearms into Canada you will require a firearms declaration form to clear customs. I will send you this when I send you your original package. If you have this filled out when you get to customs it will make it much faster. Also if you had to go through customs in Canada before reaching st.john’s it could cause you to miss your connecting flight.

17- When making flight arrangements it is a good idea to try to book a flight that arrives in st.johns as its first stop in Canada. I know this is not always possible but a lot of times it is.

18- I hope I have helped to make your hunting trip better. If you have any questions please feel free to call me.

19- PS DON’T FORGET YOUR DUCT TAPE!!!
