2342 (Innsworth) Squadron Air Training Corps

2342 (Innsworth) Squadron, based at Imjin Barracks, initially struggled to find its feet but the appointment of Flt Lt Park as OC on 31 March 2014 proved the catalyst for a dramatic change. The Squadron now has a cadet strength of more than 30 cadets who have been attracted by the Squadron’s strong Community commitment, and a more varied and exciting activities programme.

2342 (Innsworth) Squadronhas successfully striven to prove to the local Community that cadets play a positive role in their Community. This is achieved not only through their manner, bearing and positive attitude when in public, but also through willing and enthusiastic involvement in supportive roles at local community activities.

2342 (Innsworth) Squadron has become a valuable youth organization to the Community of Innsworth and surrounding area.

Royal Forest of Dean Sea Cadet Unit

The Royal Forest of Dean Sea Cadets exemplifies all that is good in community support activity of the Sea Cadet Organisation. Their quick response to assist and engage with the National Citizenship Scheme of Central Government placed them at the forefront of the strategic and supportive opportunities with which our Cadet organizations engage.

Three local charities gave a talk to the Group about each of their aims & needs. The NCS Group chose ‘Forest Pulse’ for their Social Action Project. Forest Pulse helps to keep families with special needs children together with their siblings for youth club & social events. The result was a significant donation to ‘Forest Pulse’, and 16 cadets having benefited and developed as a result of the experience.

Their ‘can do’ approach, plus their impact to the wider community of the surrounding area of Lydney, together with their participation in the National Citizenship Scheme, is hugely commendable.
