Thank You – Jaime thanked everyone for a great year.

Jaime introduced Melissa McCallar, the new media specialist at Pre-K. Everyone said goodbye to Diane Sanker. Diane will be going to Taylors Creek next year as a teacher.

Jaime presented a slide show of the school year while everyone ate.

Code of Conduct 08-09 School Year – Jaime stated the code of conduct was not in print yet. It will be at the beginning of the school year and will also be posted on the website.

Acceptable Use Policy – Jaime said to remind your teaching staff that it is a violation of school policy to use personally owned equipment to bypass the filtered internet that LCSS has in place. Jaime stated you need to inform your principal of such violations and the equipment will need to be removed from the computer.

Jaime said to ask your teachers to supply you a list of students from their class that do not have permission to use the internet. Jaime stated you can then take the list of students and enter the NOs into Sasi. Yes will be the default in Sasi until you go in and mark the NO’s for the students that do not have permission to use the internet.

If a student does not return a Code of Conduct form we will assume they will have permission to use the internet.

Student Photo permissions will be part of the Code of Conduct. There will not be a separate form for this anymore.

Technology Funds – Jaime said to meet with your media committee and administrators and submit a plan of how you will be using your technology funds. This must be approved by Dr. Crane before any requisitions will be approved.

Make sure all Windows 98 machines are discarded by December 2008. Make it a priority to replace these if needed from your technology funds.

Be sure you talk to Patti or Jeff before ordering wide format printers. These are very expensive to repair. There is a recommended model if you are interested in purchasing one of these printers.

You will not be able to place orders early in Munis for FY’09 purchases. Jaime will find out more information and let you know.

Mounting LCD Projectors – Some will be mounted this summer and others this coming school year. We used Cela Barrett at JBE as the test mount location. A sound system was put in also along with the projector as a test. A schedule is not currently in place but when it is your time Patti will contact you.

Please make buying wireless mice and/or slates for your teachers a priority. This will give them more mobility when their projector is mounted. Make this one of your priorities when you meet with your committee.

Projector bulbs will still be ordered the same way as before. Once mounted, bulbs will need to be changed by maintenance personnel only. (This will require a Maintenance Work Order) Only a select few will be trained for this. You will need to have the bulb on a cart and ready for them to install when they come.

The VT45 and VT47 projectors will not be mounted in classrooms because of a key-stoning issue. These would be good ones to keep on your mobile carts.

SmartBoard Stands – Jaime stated we would start placing SmartBoard stands on GovDeals one school at a time. The light gray stands are for the 600 series boards and the dark gray stands are for the 500 series. Jaime said to please note this on your GovDeal form. Jaime stated that bids for boards will start at $50. Jaime said it is very important that you designate if your boards have screws or not. She said you can use one form for all your boards.

The funds from the sales will go back into providing money for laptop and CPS unit batteries. Jaime said to fill out the form and send it to her.

The boards will be posed on GovDeals for a week one school at a time. The boards that do not sell will be picked up by maintenance. Jaime stated that she would put in the maintenance request.

Renaissance Learning and Purchase Orders – The quotes for AR and STAR are attached to the link. Jaime stated you will have to unenroll everyone in AR Enterprise and delete any that have left the county. Jaime said to get the school Rosters from the secretary and you will be able to import the names in from Sasi.

Jaime stated you could use local technology funds if you already have all of your hardware needs met. This must be included in your school plan for the funds.

If you choose to use your book money you must email Betty requesting the needed funds to be moved from 642 to 612 for the software purchase.

New County Webpage – Jaime gave everyone a glimse of how the new website will look. Jaime stated that we will have a county level slide show on the website that will show photos of your students. She stated that photographs for the website are needed and to send them to Marc Stewart if you have permission from parents to show pictures of their children on the web.

Education City – Jaime stated a rate increase of $300 per year. She stated that multiple year sign up is not an option.

Professional Learning Plan for 208-2009 – Jaime stated that there will be a Destiny Training at the BOE on July 28 and 29. This will involve elementary media specialists and their paras will be in the computer lab, and middle and high school media specialists and their paras will be in Room 2900.

HRRB Book Club will be at the BOE on August 28 and October 13. Jaime stated that media para’s can take also to get credit. Jaime stated she would send out an email to those that signed up.

Destiny – Jaime asked that everyone please turn in your survey before you leave here today. All sites must submit before purchase orders can be completed.

Jaime stated the following would be paid for at the county level:

Wireless scanners

MARC Enhancement, except BI, Pre-K and Tech Office

Reading Program Service District Subscription – Lexile

Library Planning Document - Destiny needs to know – please submit to Jaime before 1pm, Monday, June 2:

-  Where does the barcode number for your faculty come from?

-  How many digits are your longest eye-readable barcodes?

-  Is there anything currently in your MARC records that you would want to preserve due to the fact that a match during data enhancement or import will replace the entire MARC record? In other words, do you have anything in your collection you do not want enhanced.

-  If the serial number information is stored in the MARC record, and it needs to be preserved, it is necessary to determine the location in order to move the information to an alternate location. How do you distinguish equipment from the rest of your collection?

-  Jaime stated she will be having a conference call with Destiny on Monday, June 2nd.

Financial Report – Jaime asked for a printout of your school media account from your bookkeeper showing the activity of your account for the school year. This will be turned in with your final financial report.

Jaime stated that you may include 615 and 616 on the same line in your report for this year. They both represent small equipment under $1000.

Do not include consumable items in your financial reports. Only include items that were processed and added to the collection.
