1) Confirmation Application
o Who: 8th Grade students or older students who have not previously been confirmed
o When: Deadline is Sunday, June 18, 2017
o Cost: $175 - Check only or online payment(Payable to OGUMC, please put Confirmation and name of Confirmand in subject line)
2) Confirmation Parent Lunch.
o Who: Parents only lunch with at least one Parent per Confirmand.
o When: Sunday, September, 10th 2017 @ 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.
o Where: Youth Hall
o What: Andy will go over the Confirmation calendar and discuss the details of the confirmation class.
3) Confirmation Retreat
o Who: Confirmands, Pastors, Youth Mentors, & Chaperones.
o When: Friday, January 12 - Sunday, January 14, 2018
o Where: Camp Glisson, Dahlonega, GA
o What: Spiritual retreat
o Cost: Included in $175 fee
4) Confirmation Sessions: Sundays, 9:35 a.m. - 10:35 a.m.
o Who: Confirmands, Friends in Faith, and Speakers

5) Assignments
o You must do Service projects and it needs to be completed by March 18, 2018
o You must help with one shift C4C(Caring for Clarkston)
o You must help with one shift at the Christmas tree lot.
o You must help with one shift of Souper Bowl of Caring, February 4, 9:30, 10:30, 12pm.
o You must complete 5 Worship Worksheets. (Night time worship counts as 2 Worship Worksheets.) completed by March 18, 2018
o You must attend one Church Council meeting that occurs on the fourth Monday of the Month.
6) Decision Conversations with Pastors
o Who: Confirmands & Pastor (Parents and/or Friends in Faith are also welcome to attend)
o When: Starting on March 1, 2018
o Where: TBD
o What: Confirmand will discuss Confirmation process and decision to join the church with one of OGUMC’s pastors
o How: On-line registration for time slots will be sent closer to the time
7) Confirmation Rehearsal
o Who: Confirmands, Friends in Faith, and at least one parent
o When: Saturday, April 14, 2018 @ 10:00- 11:30 a.m.
o Where: Sanctuary
o What: Rehearsal of Confirmation Service Sunday April 15
8) Confirmation Sunday
o Who: Confirmands, Parents, Friends in Faith, family members, church members
o When: Sunday, April 15, 2018
o Where: Sanctuary
o What: Confirmation Worship Service in which Friends in Faith present Confirmands to congregation and Confirmands are accepted into church membership
o Reception to follow in Grand Hall
