CODE OF CONDUCT AGREEMENT FOR MILFORD HOUSE TRIP
All students are required to follow all school rules and procedures, as outlined in the school's Code of Student Behaviour and as reviewed with all grade 6 students. The Code of Student Behaviour applies to all locations - bus, historical sites, tourist attractions, dining hall, cabins, and water - and with all supervising adults.
All participating students and their parents/guardians are required to sign the contract below. Please review together (student with parent/guardian) the specific rules and procedures for each aspect of the trip.
EXPECTATIONS:
BUS: / · Stay in your seat, sitting down, unless in an emergency· Don’t stick any part of the body out of the bus window
· Don’t throw objects
· Follow all instructions offered by the bus driver
· Line up properly - no pushing and shoving
· Always check in with your class list checker before boarding the bus
· The following may be brought for entertainment on the bus trip: disc players, mp3 players/ipods, travel games, hand-held video games, appropriate books and magazines. Those must be used quietly. Those items will be collected for the duration of the Milford stay upon arrival and returned for the return bus trip. The responsibility for any and all of these items rests with the owners
· Stay in your seat, sitting down, unless in an emergency
DINING / · Sit down in your work group’s assigned area and wait to be served
HALL: / · Use patience and respect when talking to student servers
· Display proper manners in word and actions
· Keep table relatively neat making servers’ work easier
· Remain seated until your group is dismissed
CABINS / · Do not leave the cabin porch before the morning whistle blows
· No visiting any other cabins. Cabins are for the use of the assigned group only
· Respect the lights out (10:00 p.m.)
· Take care of the cabin; turn off lights when not in use, close door gently etc.
BEACH: / · Follow all rules of water safety
· Listen to the lifeguard at all times
· Never go to the beach or a dock are unless with an adult
SESSIONS: / · Try your hardest in all activities, play fair, be a good sport
· Stay with your group
· Follow the school's "Hands Off" rule
· Remember backpacks must go to all sessions
RESPECT FOR / · Respect your space, the space of others, and the shared spaces (i.e. share room and bathroom equally and in a tidy and safe manner)
PERSONS / · Use respectful language - no name calling, put downs
· Do not "bug" others
· Be welcoming and inclusive in your attitudes toward your cabin crew
· Respect the time requirements (i.e. lights out at 10:00 p.m.)
· Respect all Milford staff. They enjoy being treated well too!
CONTRACT
STUDENT:
I hereby agree to abide by all the rules and procedures, in spirit and in fact, that are outlined in JWM/FT's Code of Student Behaviour and the Code of Conduct for the Milford House Trip
I understand that my following these rules will result in a safe, enjoyable experience for myself and others at JWM/FT.
I understand that activity, group and cabin arrangements are ultimately determined by staff.
I understand that the school staff may determine that it is in the best interest of myself and/or the other students to remove me from certain activities and/or may contact my parents for transportation from Milford House.
PARENT:
I confirm that I have reviewed the rules and procedures referred to above with my child and have emphasized their importance in ensuring a safe, enjoyable learning experience for all participants. I further confirm that I support the school and its staff in their role of ensuring a safe, enjoyable trip. I agree to arrange transportation home for my child should the school staff deem it necessary.
