3.0  SUMMER FAIR 2010

Charlotte has been given details for a Re-enactment group to see if they can come along for a display.

Charlotte will also book the Beer Tent.

Other ideas were:

Each class to have a stall as normal

Tombola stall as this goes really well

Raffle – but just have 3 ‘big’ prizes

BBQ – Need to get hold of some second hand barrel BBQ’s if we can

Indian Stall – Last year, Pauleen mentioned that the Indian Restaurant in Baughurst could come along and also cook for us – we thought this would be something different – we thought a donation of 20% of their takings – to be discussed at next meeting.

Refreshments – We thought about Strawberries & Cream this year instead of Scones. We could see if Sainsbury’s would donate the strawberries as part of their 5 a day fruit scheme.

Also thought about fruit and marshmallow/meringue kebab sticks – we could run a stall – each child pays money to choose 5 pieces of fruit/marshmallow, then they can dip it under a chocolate fountain! It was suggested that maybe the Co-op would donate the Fair Trade Chocolate to us.

Dee will see how much the chocolate fountains are in Tesco along with her staff discount.

ACTION: Dee

Charmaine & Charlotte to enquire about bouncy castles, cost etc.

ACTION: Charmaine & Charlotte

Charlotte mentioned about getting a survey sent out to parents to ask for their feedback (and their children’s feedback) on the fair last year. Was it too expensive, what would they like to see, what didn’t work very well, any ideas etc).

ACTION: Charlotte to make up questionnaire.

4.0  AOB

We have approx £2,000 in bank account. We will be changing banks from Lloyds to Barclays shortly.

The PTA would like to spend some of this money on a freezer, BBQ and some sort of lockable shed so we can store the PTA equipment on site.

Other ideas mentioned were:

Car Treasure Hunt

Beetle Drive Night

Ladies Night! – Thought about asking BCOT & QMC if students would like to come along to give facials, massages, pedicures, manicures etc. Also, Virgin Vie, Ann Summers and Jamie Oliver stalls.

To be discussed in more detail after Summer Fair!

NEXT MEETING TO BE HELD ON FRIDAY 23RD APRIL, 1.30PM
