Junior Research Project
Stivers 2017
Writing a research paper is probably one of the most important skills you will learn in the English classroom because the research process is one you will implement over and over in high school, in college, and possibly in your chosen profession. The process and product of this research paper reflects weeks of self-discipline and years of acquired skills. For this research paper, each step in the process is vital and must be completed before you go on to the next step.
Prompt: Some of the world’s most interesting history is the history that has not yet been proven or that never happened. Choose one of the following conspiracy theories, legends, or mysteries and carefully research your topic. After doing your research, create an argument that either supports the validity of your conspiracy theory, legend, or mystery or refutes it. Make sure to address your counter argument fully.
It is your responsibility to carefully consider each topic and anticipate any difficulties in locating sources for this project. Only one student may be assigned each topic per class. Please make an educated choice in an area that you have interest in studying.
