2004 Graduating Seniors


Kenny McAdoo (Fairfax): Kenny began diving when he was 8 years old. He became Co-Coach of the Fairfax dive team last year. Kenny has also been diving at Patriot Dive Club and his hobbies include video production and hanging out at the pool. Kenny graduated from Fairfax High School this spring and will major in Engineering at West Virginia University in the fall.
Lauren Brown (Dunn Loring): Lauren has been an NVSL swimmer since the age of 7 (recently placing 3rd with her DL All-Star relay team) and an NVSL diver since the age of 14. Lauren is also an accomplished gymnast, a sport that she pursued for 11 years before diving. Lauren competed for Northern Virginia Dive Club and for Marshall High School Swim and Dive Teams. She recently graduated as Valedictorian with an International Baccalaureate diploma from Marshall High School. She will be attending the University of Virginia in the fall and has an interest in business.
Michelle Caputy (Great Falls): Michelle has competed for several years with the NVSL and she was the only member of her dive team at Foxcroft School for two years. She recently graduated from the Foxcroft School, where she represented her school in the State ISL Championships during her senior year. Michelle will attend George Washington University in the fall and there, she will major in bioinformatics. She also plans to be a member of the GWU dive team.
Vanessa Hatcher (Lee Graham): Vanessa has competed for 7 years with Lee Graham and for four years for Falls Church High School, where she was a recent graduate and the captain of her dive team. Vanessa is an accomplished musician and she is planning to pursue a major in music at Hillsdale College in Michigan this fall.
Caton Hall (Highland Park): Caton has been diving for the NVSL since the age of 5 years. He dove at Hayfield Farm before coming to Highland Park, as the assistant coach. He has coached for HP for the past two years. Caton has been an All-Star Champion (2000, 2001) and a Wally Martin Champion (2002). He has competed for York Dive Team and Hayfield High School, where he recently graduated. Caton will attend and dive for University of Louisiana, Monroe, in the fall and he will be studying aviation.
Caroline Hightower (Chesterbrook): Caroline has been diving since the age of 7 years. She has represented Chesterbrook for 11 years. She has been a member of the Northern Virginia Dive Club and has competed with them at the National Team Level since 1996. She coaches at NVDC and loves to share her enthusiasm for the sport with younger divers. Caroline recently graduated from Connelly School of Holy Child in Potomac, MD and will be attending Loyola College in Baltimore in the fall. She is interested in majoring in psychology.
Scott Hudson (Orange Hunt): Scott has been diving since the age of 7 years. He has represented the OH Sharks since the beginning of his diving career and has been a coach for them for the past three years (Head Coach this year). On the JO Level, Scott dove for NVDC for 5 years and Patriot Dive Club for the past 4 years. Scott also represented Lake Braddock High School, as Captain and as a diver for all four years. Scott has received many honors throughout his diving career. He has been an All-Star Champion (2002, 1999, 1998), he has represented LBHS at the VA State Championships and won the Championship in his JR year of High School. He has been an All-American Diver the past 2 years and made the Washington Post All-Met Team in his JR year. Scott will attend Virginia Tech in the fall, where he received a diving scholarship.
Jessica Kirchner (Overlee): Jessica started diving in 1987 at the age of two years. She was the youngest diver to ever dive at the Cracker Jack meet. She has been on the Overlee dive team every season and has only missed two dive meets her entire career. She has been the high point scorer for Overlee in her age category on a yearly basis. She was a High School diver for Yorktown, where she went to Regionals each year and she dove with NVDC several winters. Jessica will attend NOVA this fall and will study business and graphic design. She hopes to move into a degree dealing with TV Production and Film Making.
Daniel McCarthy (Cardinal Hill): Daniel has been diving since the age of 6 years. He has been a member of the Cardinal Hill Dive Team since 1993. He has been the Assistant Dive Coach for Cardinal Hill for the past 2 years. He also was a member of the James Madison High School Swim and Dive Team and a Captain for the diving team for the past 2 years. Daniel placed 4th in the VA State championship in 2004 and he was a NVSL All Star Champion in 2001. He will be attending Virginal Teach in the fall where he will be a member of their Dive Team.
Tim McNeill (Lee Graham): Tim is a Home Schooled High School graduate. He has been diving with Lee Graham for 11 years and has set many pool records there. Tim is also a member of the US Gymnastics National Team and will be representing the US in International Competition. Tim is the current Junior National Pommel Horse Champion and the US Floor Champion. He will attend the University of California at Berkley this fall, where he will be studying Integrative Biology and competing for the Golden Bears Gymnastics Team.
Kelcey Moore (Donaldson Run): Kelcey recently graduated from Madeira School, where she was chosen as Athlete of the year for 2003-2004. She has lettered in Field Hockey, diving, and lacrosse. This is her 3rd year as an Assistant Coach with the Donaldson Run Dive Team and her 7th year as a team member. Kelcey will attend Georgetown University in the fall, where she will be diving for Coach Carrie Bromberg.
Brandon Paster (Fairfax): Brandon joined the Fairfax Dive Team in 2001. He became the Assistant Coach of the team in 2002. He has served as the Co-Coach of the team for the past two years. His hobbies include golf and soccer. Brandon also excels in swimming and academics. He recently graduated from Fairfax High School and will be attending William and Mary in the fall.
Timmy Pearce (Highland Park): Tim has been swimming for the NVSL since the age of 5 years and diving since the age of 7 years. He recently graduated from Edison High School, where he was also a Dive Team Member. He will attend George Mason University this fall and will dive with the Patriots.
Joseph Smolinske (Hayfield Farms): Joe has been a diver for Hayfield Farms for six years. He has also been a swimmer for Hayfield Farms and Hayfield High School. Joe is an all around athlete competing in lacrosse, basketball, baseball and soccer. He is an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and his church youth group. He has a great sense of humor and is a practical joker. He will be attending George Mason University this fall.
Angie Stevens (Parliament): Angie has been a Parliament Dive team member for 9 years and the Assistant Coach for the past two years. Angie’s real passion is music. She sings and plays the piano, flute and bassoon. Angie loves playing the piano the most and has accompanied many school and church groups/productions. She was in Band and Jazz Ensemble. Angie graduated with honors from Bishop O’Connell High School and will be a Piano Performance Major at James Madison University in the fall.
Sean Sullivan (Ravensworth Farms): Sean recently graduated from Annandale High School, where he was a member of the Varsity Dive Team for three years and a Varsity Lacrosse player. Sean also helps referee Little League Baseball for ANSL. Sean has been diving for Ravensworth Farms for two years, where he is an Assistant Coach. Sean also served as the photographic editor for the Award winning A-Blast Newspaper at Annandale High and as a member of the school’s student leadership team. He will attend Christopher Newport University in the fall and will be studying Political Science and Communications.
Christina “Tina” Sweeder (North Springfield): Tina recently graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. There, she received her Varsity Letter in cheerleading, diving, gymnastics and softball. She was also very involved in the choral program for all four years and served as one of its co-chairs this year. She has been a diver at NSSC for 12 years and was at one time coached by her own sister, Jenny. Tina is a dedicated volunteer throughout the community and she was recognized for her volunteer spirit, athletic accomplishments, sportsmanship and leadership by receiving the NVSL MacDuff Scholarship this year. Tina will be attending the Georgia Institute of Technology in the fall and will be majoring in Math. She already has earned several credits towards her degree while in High School, so she is well on her way to a successful college career.
Jillian Yoerges (Hayfield Farms): Jillian has been diving for Hayfield Farms since the age of six years. She dove on Hayfield High School Varsity Dive Team and with York Dive Team for several seasons. Jillian was the Assistant Coach for Hayfield Farms last year and is the Head Coach this year. She is bright and friendly and is devoted to working hard for her team. Jillian is an all around athlete. She plays field hockey, lacrosse, swims, runs and enjoys skiing. She will be attending the University of Florida in the fall and hopes to dive on the club team there.
