Welcome to the 2016 – 2017 school year at Chickasaw Elementary School! The faculty and staff are truly blessed to have your child as a part of the Chieftain family. We are committed to providing a safe and orderly environment for your child to receive an excellent education.
Communication is Key
The school provides information for parents in a variety of ways. Each student will receive a red communication folder. This folder should be brought home each day. The following are ways in which the school communicates information to parents.
- Teachers will send home a calendar in the communication folder and record daily behavior.
- Teachers send home weekly newsletters each Monday that has grade level specific information.
- The school office will send home a monthly newsletter that has dates of school-wide events.

- School Cast sends text messages to your cell phone for important reminders or school news.
School Schedule:
- Students may arrive at 7:30am.
- The bus and day care vans drop students off by the cafeteria in a designated zone.
- Students who arrive by a personal vehicle drive through the horseshoe at the entrance of the school. The crossing guard and several teachers will assist with this process. Please remain in your vehicle during drop off and pick up.
- The crossing guard will assist students who walk to school cross the teacher parking lot.
- Students who wish to eat breakfast are directed to the cafeteria.
- Students who are in Kindergarten and those who do not wish to eat breakfast are directed to the gym.
- Kindergarten (K) students eat breakfast from 8:05 to 8:35am.
- Students who arrive at 8:00am or after are considered tardy. Tardy students will report to the office immediately to receive a pass to class.
- All snack money is sent to the office by 9:00am. Students who arrive tardy may arrive too late to purchase snack. Please make sure you provide a snack if your child is tardy.
- Lunch Schedule:1st grade 10:45 – 11:15 am, 2nd grade11:45 am – 12:15 pm,
3rd grade 11:00 – 11:30 am, K 12:15 – 12:45 pm, Ford/Oreye 11:30 am – 12:00 pm, 4th grade12:30 – 1:00 pm, 5th grade12:45 – 1:15 pm
- PE Schedule: 2nd grade 8:30 – 9:20 am, 1st grade 9:20 – 10:10 am, K 10:10 – 11:00 am, 4th grade 11:30 am – 12:20 pm, Ford/Oreye12:20 – 1:10 pm, 3rd grade 1:10 – 2:00 pm, 5th grade2:00 – 2:50 pm
- No early dismissals will be granted after 2:30pm.
- Dismissal begins promptly at 3:00 pm.
- Chickasaw City Schools has 6 buses and multiple day care vans that pick students up each day.
- Students who are picked up in a vehicle will load in the front of the school in an orderly manner. Please stay in your vehicle and the teachers on duty will call students by name to get into the cars.
- Students who walk home are escorted a portion of the way home by teachers.
- Chickasaw Elementary School offers an extended day program called Tribe Time. There is a $20 registration fee and a weekly charge of $20 for each child to participate. Tribe Time ends at 5:45 pm each day that school is in session unless otherwise stated.
Registration: If you have not paid for registration, please send in $5 with your child in the attached envelope. This donation helps to provide stamps for report cards to be mailed 4th quarter, paper for monthly newsletters, ink for the copy machine to print the newsletters, and first aid supplies.

August 22 – 26; 29 – Sept. 2 Fall Screener for students to determine instructional level
August 29: Boy Scout Troop will pass out flyers to boys in grades 1 – 5
August 30: Boy Scout Meeting in Cafeteria 6pm (Boys grades 1 – 5)
30: Progress Reports will be sent home
