Permission Slip for Mister Moritz’s U.S. History Classes
Hello,
My name is Mr. Moritz and I am your students U.S. History teacher at Bingham High School. The reason I am sending this letter home with your student today, is because I would like to obtain your permission in allowing me the opportunity to show these extremely educational films to your student. However, some of these films carry a PG-13 or T.V.-14 rating. If your beliefs and values are in conflict with the content of these films, then I will gladly dismiss your student from seeing these movie scenes on the day they are shown.
In the weeks and months to come, I plan on showing several movie clips to the class. These film clips are important to your student because it shows the human element of history. It takes history beyond the words in a text book and allows your student to visually understand the full impact of events on people throughout history. These are individual clips from a film and are NOT the entire film.
These scenes will not contain explicit scenes of sensuality, excessive foul language, or graphic violence. They may contain some violence and coarse language, but I assure you, they will not be anything too excessive.
Some of the films I plan on showing that have a PG-13 rating are:
The Crossing The Alamo Dances With Wolves Gods and Generals Little Big Man Cinderella Man
Rough Riders Flyboys U-571
Pearl Harbor Memphis Belle Red Tails
North and South Into The West Warhorse
The Red Baron
Furthermore, many of the documentaries that I show in class have a T.V.-14 rating as well.
I want you to be as informed as possible to what I am showing your student in the classroom and I do not want to violate or trespass on any moral values and beliefs that you may have.
Respectfully,
Mr. Moritz
