The auditions will take place during the school day over a period of five days. Students must receive permission from their teachers in order to miss class for the audition. They will not necessarily have to miss the entire period. Students will be assigned an audition date and time upon receipt of this application. The possible audition days are as follows: Monday, 4/23-Tuesday, 4/24-Wednesday, 4/25-Thursday, 4/26-Friday, 4/27

Drama Production Auditions

We are thrilled you are interested in joining the Drama Production program here at Millikan Middle School. The Drama program is a very rigorous, yet exciting adventure that will guide you in not only developing your skills as a performer, but assist in building confidence and becoming a well-rounded student.

As a student within this program, you will have the opportunity to participate in theatrical productions and competitions. Every spring the Drama Production class produces a large scale theatrical production. In both the spring and fall, the class also competes in the Drama Teachers Association of Southern California (DTASC) competitions. Millikan Middle School, over the years, has established itself as the winningest middle school in Southern California at these competitions and you would be part of continuing this tradition.

Auditions

In order to complete the audition process, you will need to prepare the following:

  • One Comedic/Funny Monologue lasting no longer than 1 minute
  • One Dramatic/Serious Monologue lasting no longer than 1 minute
  • Both monologues must be from a published play, script, or any other literary source.
  • Monologues MAYNOT BE from a movie or television show
  • Monologues MAY NOT BE something you wrote or has not been published
  • All monologues must be memorized

Return completed application to Mr. Dean in Room #15 byFriday, April 20th, 2018.

(The packet includes application with parent signature, current photo, one paragraph essay, and current grade report)

Step 3
