Job purpose: To drive and support knowledge, information and records management through Information Workplace Services

Key responsibilities:

  • Support Information Workplace Content Managers and Administrators across the business in managing Information Workplacesby conducting Workplace requirements analysis interview with business (reference interviews), identifying training needs for the business and co-ordinating training and support.
  • Build relationships with the business to facilitate good practice in knowledge and information management, by acting as an account manager to x division to provide advice and support in the delivery of Information Workplace, including “how to” support, information, records and knowledge management advice.
  • Provide guidance on best practice in sharing information, managing records and knowledge, and working better together Encourage teams to value information, records, data and knowledge as an asset and to manage it accordingly
  • Ensure supply of quality third party information resources for the business, through management of procurement process, contract management, troubleshooting and embedding within IWP. Manage both electronic and Department Collections.
  • Manage the workplace request process, and managing the deployment of new template based workplaces.
  • Manage benefits tracking through the collation of workplace benefits scorecard data.
  • Take the lead on Knowledge and Information management, ensuring guidance is available on the Intranet on knowledge management and information management.
  • Manage and promote the Knowledge as a key knowledge management tool for the Department.
  • Provide support and continuity to the business through information literacy training and other support mechanisms, including online training and make materials available via “Our Intranet Site” and workplaces, i.e. slides, podcasts. Market and communicate the KRM catalogue of services to the business via Workplaces and Our Intranet site

Specialist Knowledge – insert any specialist knowledge or professional qualifications

Chartered membership of CILIP (MCLIP or FCLIP);

OR

A CILIP approved qualification or an overseas qualification recognised by CILIP as equivalent;

OR

Have achieved CILIP certification (ACLIP) and have 2 years full time equivalent experience of professional information work;

OR

Have an NVQ level 4 or equivalent in library and information studies plus experience of professional information work;

OR

A postgraduate qualification in a CILIP approved subject following a 1st or 2nd class degree in any discipline.

OR

Have at least three years demonstrable experience of working in knowledge, information and records management.
