July Meeting Minutes

  • Celebration of Jennifer and her service to Lakeside
  • Thank you to new and old board members for stepping up for their kids and the community.

  • Once the vote is taken we are all unified on the decision
  • Remember you are a Lakeside ambassador – clear communication; no complaining about the board;we are a team as one – act positively and bring up any concerns internally.

  • Snack Shack supervisor – need to consider hiring out/outsourcing but have a board member oversee it.
  • Shaun looking for younger member to shadow player development contact him if you know of someone.

  • Fall Ball update –
  • Coordinate with Jill on number of teams. Uniforms will be colors.
  • Discussion on Fall Ball format –
  • AA clinic scrimmage model – team varies per week
  • Brandon suggested getting with Nick Edmonson to develop a program similar to what he runs on Sundays
  • Nick/Shaun to get together with Edmonson to brainstorm ideas and write up sales pitch on what Fall ball will look like, benefits etc. to send out to parents.
  • AAA – Need 4 teams keep inside league play (last year played outside and the skill levels were too different)
  • Majors – play outside teams
  • Last Fall the 1st clinic was August 16th
  • Need to get going on registration – open by mid August
  • Need to get clinic dates set (Shaun)
  • Financials Reviewed

  • Opening Day – Need to pick a date. Last year 2nd Saturday in March worked out well
  • Congratulations to the All Star teams and coaches
  • Batting cage fencing – Need more people to go up to the county and gain agreement to fence in the batting cage to prohibit people outside of Lakeside from tearing up the equipment. Carpet replacement is estimate at $8K.
  • GB HS is developing a new softball field and new batting cages through Measure D. Can we contact them to see if any of the old equipment is usable
  • Post season spring survey
  • Field workday 7/22 – need to take the AAA fence down (10 to 12 people) football needs it down before the end of July.
  • Sponsorship coordinator to roll up banners before Jul 22nd
  • Coordinate the snack shack close down with Field Workday
  • Everyone needs to meet with outgoing person who held their position and transition before the next Board meeting. Jennifer will to attend your meeting as well or discuss with you how to better your role.

  • Need someone who will analyze the proceeds and develop the business plan
  • Jim will pull together a sub-committee to analyze and come up with recommendations – Erica, Megan, Jill, Jarrod

  • Majors choosing MLB teams – League can only choose one supplier (Majestic) and they determine the style
  • Have 4 weeks to turnaround uniforms after draft.
  • Jill will reach out to other leagues to determine what they do to improve the process
  • For younger teams pre-order with set numbers but use registration to determine size.
  • League will supply coaches and manager shirts with team logo
  • Provide Jill with all recommendations by the next meeting on jersey types, process for numbers, sizing etc.,
  • Can the registration form be modified to add top three numbers at registration
  • Jill will compile and present decisions
