Child Development and Psychology provides students with knowledge, skills, and attitudes that are needed to promotegrowth and development of children in the family, school, community, and workplace settings. This course teaches characteristics that are neededin careers involving child development and psychology. Characteristics include communication, management, leadership, and thinking skills. In this course we will analyze and observe children, parents, families, caregivers, and professions within the Child Development field.
This course adheres to the NYS Child Development and Psychology Learning Standards.

Student Expectations:
In order for students to be successful they must:
- Attend all classes
- Come to class prepared
- Follow school and classroom rules
- Actively participate in class
- Complete all required assignments
- See teacher to make up work after being absent
Grading students will be evaluated in the following areas:
- Class participation 35%
- Assignments, projects 25%
- Tests/Quizzes 25%
- Homework 15%
Extra Help:
Students may see teacher for extra help at any time!

- 1 large pocket folder
- Pens and/or Pencils
- The school will provide you with an assignment book
*Most late assignments will result in dropping one letter grade per day late. There will be some assignments that will NOT be accepted late.
