Pupil Premium Report for parents 2013/14 – spending up to February 20th 2014

The Government give schools Pupil Premium funding, which is based on every child who has been eligible for a free school meal in the last 6 years. The school then spends this money on closing the gap between the attainment of children eligible for free school meals and non- free school meals. Below is a summary of how some of the money has been spent this year and the success we have had.

To purchase 30X I pads and trolley / To enhance ICT provision for children and enable different types of learning to take place. / Yet to be purchased as of 25.2.14 – awaiting wifi connection and new server.
Music provision / To give children wider opportunities beyond the curriculum in an area of low aspiration and opportunities.
This time also allows staff to have PPA time together to plan, assess and evaluate work and the impact of interventions on progress.
All children in Year 3 and 4 learn and instrument
Music provision- band, choir, guitars, ukuleles, keyboard, flute, clarinet, drums, brass, violins / 1/2 of the school play a musical instrument.
All children from Y1 upwards taught by a music specialist in curriculum time. School heavily subsidises music tuition £20 a term.
