November Minutes
Thanks again to Wendi Caplan-Carroll for a terrific presentation on Small Business Email Marketing.
Thanks also to Maria Mignone and Panera Bread for providing coffee.
Even with some regulars missing, we easily filled the room, and there was great energy.
Meadowlands USA update: Ranee Patel and Shoum Chakravarti have written a very informative article for the Small Business Corner on Strategic Planning for the New Year. Thanks guys! Suggestions for the following issue (deadline in January) are needed and welcomed.
All SBC members are encouraged to sign up for the Basket Brigade, spearheaded by the Construction Committee. If you cannot help assemble baskets on November 24, please consider donating $42 to provide a basket of food for a Thanksgiving dinner to a needy Bergen County family. Sign up!
A new roundtable is being formed for sales people of small businesses. The group will be limited to 12 participants, and to one person per company and industry. Facilitated by Danny Wood, the group will meet monthly on a Friday morning TBD. Sign up will be extended to all chamber members at the 11/21 member meeting. For more information, or to reserve a spot, call Abby at 973-256-8443 or email her at
Also use Abby's contact information above to discuss filling Alan's spot as co-chair. A couple folks are considering and being considered, but no final decision has been made.
Our next meeting will be:
Friday, December 13, 8:30-10 AM
In the Seminar Room of the Conference Center
301 Route 17 North, Rutherford, NJ 07070
(The building next to the Chamber, directly above the cafeteria)

1. Martin Muldowney will be doing a short follow-up presentation (to the one done by Edie this summer) on the Chamber website. His focus will be on what kinds of data is collected via the chamber website, what it means in terms of the statistical reporting provided, and how SBC members can use this information.
2. The rest of the meeting will be spent in small group discussions on a timely topic.
3. Coffee will be provided by Evans Coffee. Anyone interested in donating bagels or muffins?
Note: As has been this committee's tradition, we will hold a "post-holiday party" in January. The SBC's events planning subcommittee is currently scouting venues for a 1/10 lunch.
