PROCEEDINGS OF 2013 BOARD OF EQUALIZATION
APRIL 9, 2013
The Board of Beadle County Board of Equalization met Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. with members present: Chair Mattke, Drake and Hansen. Also present were Pat Tscheter, Director of Equalization and Debbie Lindblad, Deputy Director of Equalization. Absent was Benson and Marcus.
Oaths were signed by Mattke, Drake and Hansen.
At 10:30 a.m., Kenneth C. Kauth met with the Board to consider the assessed value of his property.
APPEAL #1 – Record #9530 – Part of Lot 1, Beginning at E Boundary 47’ S of NE Corner etc., Blk 5 Fisher & Foster 2nd Addition to the City of Huron. Mr. Kauth and Pat Tschetter, Director of Equalization to set a time to do a walkthrough of the property and bring back to the board.
At 10:45 a.m., Harlan Hawley met with the Board to consider the assessed value of his property.
APPEAL #2 – Record #7579, 7580, 7581, 7582, 7583 – Lot 67, 68, 69, 70 & 71 Temmeys Addition, Lake Byron Township. Moved by Hansen, seconded by Drake, motion carried to raise Local Board land value from $6,000.00 to $12,000.00 on all records.
At11:15 a.m., Frank Thomas met with the Board to consider the assessed value of his property.
DIRECTOR APPEAL #4 – Record #7536 Lot 15 Temmey Addition, Lake Byron Township. Moved by Hansen, seconded by Drake, motion carried to keep the lot value at $480.00 per square foot, however, authorize Pat Tschetter, Director of Equalization to determine if the lot size 60 feet or if it is 53.4 feet and adjust the lot accordingly.
At 11:30 a.m. the Board considered the Added value of Lester Jungemann
ADDED VALUE #5 – Record #15880 – Lots 6 thru 8 Block 34, Wolsey First Addition, Wolsey Town. Moved by Hansen, seconded by Drake to approve removing the exempt status from the record as the Presbyterian Church sold the property to above mentioned Lester Jungemann and add the value of $1,507.00 for Land and $37,081.00 for Structure for a total added value of $38,588.00.
At 11:50 a.m. Karen Spain from APC Management appeared on behalf of the owner to consider the assessed value of the property.
APPEAL #7 – Record #11008 – Tract P Exc S 165’ & Exc N30’ Ol 7-110-61, Huron City. Pat Tschetter, Director of Equalization received the Financial Statement and will re-run the value using the Financial Statement and bring back to the Board.
At 11:55 a.m. Karen Spain from APC Management appeared on behalf of the owner to consider the assessed value of the property.
APPEAL #8 – Record#10443 – Lot C Exc W17’ Dedicated RW Morris Plat Addition to the City of Huron. Pat Tschetter, Director of Equalization will be receiving the Financial Statement from the owner, and will re-run the value using the Financial Statement and bring back to the Board.
At 12:00 the Board considered the assessed value of Julie Einck property.
APPEAL #9 – Record #15370 Lot 8, Block 1 Prairie Green 3rd Addition to the City of Huron. Moved by Drake, seconded by Hansen, motion carried to leave assessed value at $231,218.00 and to keep the property at Non-Owner Occupied Status.
At 12:10 p.m. the board considered the assessed value of their property.
APPEAL #10 – Record #1714, 1716, 1720, 1721 & 1722 Lots 6 & 7 Exc N50’, Lot 8 of Brewery Hill Addition, Lot 12 Exc N50’ and All of lots 13 & 14 Replat of Lots 3 & 4 of Subd of lot 1 brewery Hill Addition all in Custer Township. Moved by Drake, seconded by Hansen, motion carried to leave assessed value the same.
The board adjourned to meet next on Thursday, April 18, 2013 10:30 a.m.
