Socceristheonlymajorsportthatcontinuestoincreaseinparticipation1.In2010,42%ofboysandgirlsbetweentheagesof5and14playedorganizedsoccercomparedto32%in1998.Bothgendersplaysoccerandacrossallagegroupsitiswithinthetopthreesportsplayed2.SocceristhetopteamsportinCanadaamongst3-17 yearolds,boysandgirls, andacrossallprovinces3.

NorthTorontoSoccerClubhasbecomerecognizedasthesoccerclubwithinTorontoforaspiringsoccerplayersandfuturechampions.Asacommunity-basedprogram,weattractover5,200youthintheRecreationalandCompetitiveprogramsandwebelieveeveryonehastherighttoplay.Increasingexpensesforfacilities,coachingandleaguefeeshavecausedthecostofsoccerparticipationto increase.Our sponsorsplaya critical role inkeepingsocceraffordableforall.

TheNorthTorontoNitrosarethecompetitivelevelplayersoftheclub,competinginleaguesatall levelsofsoccerinOntario:Provincial(OPDL,OYSL,OSL,OWSL),Regional(CSL)andDistrict (TSA).SeveralofourplayershaveplayedonCanadiannationalteamsinthepastyear.AstheonlyTorontoclubintheeliteOntarioPlayerDevelopmentLeagueatallagegroups,ourplayerswillcontinue to receive the highest level of training and development.
