FEDERATIONS OF WALES CONFERENCE 2017 will be at Anglesey Showground on Wednesday 26th April, there will be no eve of Conference entertainment, we will be travelling up on the Tuesday visiting various places of interest on the way and staying overnight in Caernarfon. If you have any suggestions of where we can visit please let us know ASAP in the WI Office.
£250 FEDERATION DENMAN BURSARY – A bursary to attend a course at Denman College to the value of £250, to be used by September 2017, Send a letter giving the name and date of the course; brief description, why did you choose it and how would you cascade it to WI members? Apply in writing by the 20th of January to the WI office.

We congratulate Mair Stephens, Llansaint WI on becoming the new Chairman of Wales Federations and she will take up her post after the April Welsh Conference.
Christmas Tree Event - a lovely atmosphere with a full hall led to an excellent evening. Membership Advisory wish to say a big thank you to all Group members for their stalls and for providing the items, also for decorating and providing the Christmas trees. Winners were 1st Brianne, 2nd Gwenllian, 3rd Cestyll. We thank Richard Keen and his Ukulele team and Whitland WI for their entertainment. During the evening £2000 was made and part of this has been allocated towards bringing the office up to the required fire and safety standards.
WINTER FAIR - Congratulations to Nest James of Llangeler Pentrecwrt who gained a 3rd in the Penguin competition out of over a hundred exhibits and Pamela John of Trelech who gained a 2nd in the Floral competition. Well done to both and to all who competed at the Winter Fair, excellent display of entries.
NEW VENUE – FERRYSIDE WI will now meet at the Ferryside Rugby Club, ample safe parking, first Thursday of the month at 7pm.

** CREATIVE DAY – Saturday 25th March, at the Bowls Club, Carmarthen (by St Peter’s car park) from 10.30am till 12.30pm, 1.30 till 3.30pm, classes are – TAMARI BALL, BUTTON WORK, QUILLING CARDS, MINIATURE FLOWER ARRANGEMENT. More information on enclosed form. All are half-day classes so you may take part in one or two sessions. £10 per person per half-day class. WI FAIR ALEXANDRA PALACE, London, travel up on Tuesday 28th March calling at the shopping mall in Brent Cross in the afternoon. Staying at the Holiday Inn Brent Cross. Wednesday 29th visit Craft Fair with demonstrations, workshops & variety of stalls or stay in London for the day. ** FASHION SHOW Friday 21st April by ‘Bon Marché’, at Bronwydd hall – To truly reflect the WI we are looking for a variety of ages and sizes. If you would like to volunteer to model please fill in enclosed form and return to the WI office by 20th January.

NFWI AGM will be held on Wednesday 7th June at Liverpool. To apply for OBSERVER tickets or just to visit Liverpool, must be pre booked, (form enclosed last month), agenda is £20, coach is £16 extra. We will be staying one night, travelling up on the Tuesday and returning after the meeting on the Wednesday at a cost of B/B £65 (single £99), return by 20th January with deposit of £50. Sorry no late bookings.
