ABOUT THE AWARDS:

This is an excellent opportunity to recognize individuals, businesses, projects and organizations that are making significant contributions to the economy of Wisconsin. It is also a good way to spotlight best practices in Community and Economic Development and the important role each play in growing our economy. Awards winners will be featured in publications and press releases across Wisconsin.

SELECTION PROCESS:

An impartial panel of partners, sponsors and WEDA members will screen the nominations to ensure that they are complete and appropriate. The judges will independently score each nomination. The WEDA staff will tabulate the scores to determine the finalists and award winning nominations. The judges scoring and rankings will determine the winners in each category.

APPLICATION DEADLINE:Midnight on June 9th, 2017- No late nominations will be considered.

All award submissions must be sent electronically to. Nominations are limited to two (2) typewritten pages that address the questions on the nomination form (this does not include the cover page). Font size for basic narrative descriptions must be no smaller than 10-point Arial or 12-point Times New Roman. Additional materials (e.g. pictures and newspaper articles) should be combined into one document and should not exceed 5 total pages.

All nominees and their nominators are encouraged to register and attend the awards ceremony. WEDA will be contacting nominees and nominators with the details about the awards ceremony.

AWARDS CEREMONY:

The ceremony will be held the evening of September 13th, 2017 at The Edgewater Hotel in Madison.

This Awardwill recognize 2 businesses that continue to invest in their Wisconsin business operations over a period of years. The nominations should use, whenever possible,specificexamplesthataddressthefollowing criteria:

  • Continued Investment and Job Creation in the State of Wisconsin – (document past three years)
  • Commitment to advancing their business models and product development efforts
  • Commitment to their employees and being an employer of choice
  • Commitment to the communities in which they operate
  • Commitment to worker safety and the environment
