Executive Director

Serve as the chief executive officer. During this period the organizations membership has grown by 50%, conference attendance has increased by over 25% and foundation revenue has increased by 40%. During this period of time we have increased professional development programs for emerging scholars from 44 participants to over 200 participants annually. The organization has also established a more international presence with programs in Africa and China.

Julian Center 2005-2011

Director, Legal Services

Established the legal services program in the states largest domestic violence shelter that later became a department. Collaborated with the development director to receive the organizations largest federal grant that allowed for the department to hire more attorneys and recruit more volunteers to serve victims of domestic violence. Responsible for managing the department, overseeing cases, public education and outreach and collaborating with other agencies in the area.

Muslim Alliance of Indiana 2006-2011

Executive Director

Responsible for all aspects of the organizations including: programs, communication strategy, development, publications and staff to help the organization became one of the most influential Muslim American nonprofits in the state and recognized as a critical interfaith partner for advocating for social justice issues.

Islamic Society of North America 1999-2004

Director, Special Projects

Responsible for development, community outreach and programs. Worked with Indiana University Center on Philanthropy to development the Fellowship on Nonprofit Management and Governance. Also responsible for the establishment of the largest professional development conferences for nonprofit K-12 Islamic schools and Islamic centers. Served as chief of staff to the secretary general in the last year of service.
