Please find detailed below information relating to the BUSA Small-bore Rifle Championships 2004. Selecting 2) Small-bore Rifle Entry Forms on the BUSA weekly mailout can access the entry forms for this competition.
Please note that the NSRA will be conducting a Home Internationals competition this season. This event in not a BUSA sanctioned representative event, however the nomination forms can be downloaded by selecting the appropriate link on the BUSA weekly mailout.

SMALL-BORE RIFLE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2004

APPLETON RIFLE CLUB RANGES
THE BRITISH UNIVERSITIES SPORTS ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS are open to individual students or teams from Universities and institutions of higher education in membership of that Association (BUSA). All competitors must be amateurs in accordance with the regulations of the NSRA, and meet the BUSA Conditions of Eligibility. The Declaration on each entry form must be completed to certify that competitors from that university meet the stated requirements
ENTRIES
Entries are required in respect of each and every competitor. They must be made on the enclosed entry form, which is not transferable; manuscript entries will not be accepted, as additional entry forms are readily available on request from the BUSA office or from NSRA. All competitors must be currently undertaking a course of higher education.

LOCATION:A map showing the location of the range will be sent upon receipt of entries, if required.
ENTRY FEES:
All competitors will pay a Championship entry fee of £4.00. Additional entry fees are payable for team events as follows:
Event No. 2£5. 25 per team
Event No. 3£4. 50 per team
Event No. 6£2. 75 per pair
COMPETITION CONDITIONS
All shooting will be governed by the NSRA Rules and Regulations.
Range Safety Rules will be strictly enforced.
Shooting will commence at 09.30 hr. and the last squad will commence at 17.00 hr. Squads will be of 1 hour duration, for 2 x 20 shot details, at each distance. Competitors will shoot at one distance, miss one squad and then shoot at the other distance.
Any alterations to team declarations must be made at least 1/2 hour before shooting commences.
Personal wind flags will not be permitted.Coaching is not allowed.
Any dispute will be decided by the Range Committee of three members, chosen from the Appleton club officials and NSRA representatives present on the range. Their decision on any point will be FINAL.
THREE CARD SYSTEM
The “Three Card System” will be adopted for all events in this Meeting. Participating Universities will be allocated one or more firing points, according to the number of their competitors. An appropriate number of firing points at the right hand end of each range will be allocated to left-handed shooters.

All competition stickers must be placed on the front of the target so that the Competitor Number is clearly visible when viewed from the front.
UPON ARRIVAL AT THE MEETING
Upon arrival, all competitors must report to the Statistical Officer to register and collect their competition stickers.
COMPETITION TICKETS
Each sticker will represent a target to be shot and will bear the competitor’s number and the distance. PLEASE SEE THAT YOUR NAME, UNIVERSITY & COMPETITION ENTRY NUMBER ARE PRINTED ON EACH STICKER BEFORE COMMENCING TO SHOOT.
TIES
When necessary, ties will be decided by reference to the NSRA Table of Precedence – (Rule 5.5).
AMMUNITION
Small quantities of popular match brands may be on sale, but competitors are strongly recommended to ensure that they have sufficient ammunition available from their own University Club supplies.
- WARNING – LIVE ROUNDS
It is the responsibility of every competitor to ensure that no ‘live’ rounds are left on the firing point.
CHALLENGES
Scores will be displayed periodically. It is the responsibility of competitors to see that all scores are correctly recorded before leaving the Meeting, as claims for missing or incorrectly recorded scores cannot be entertained after the close of the Meeting. A score may be challenged on payment of a fee of £1.00, which will be refunded if the challenge is upheld.
AWARDS
(a)THE NATIONAL INDIVIDUAL CHAMPION will receive a replica of the trophy presented to the NSRA by Colonel Sutton.
(b)THE BRITISH UNIVERSITIES SPORTS ASSOCIATION CHAMPIONSHIPS. The members of the first three teams, and the first three competitors in the Men’s and Women’s Individual Championships will receive gold, silver or bronze medals appropriate. (Conduct of the Association’s Activities: para 2d).
NOTE: The winners of trophies that are competed for annually must lodge them with their Athletic Union for safekeeping.
PRIZES
The Range Committee reserves the right to modify the prize list for Events numbered 2, 3 & 6 according to the size of entry.
The Prize Award Ceremony will take place as soon as possible after the conclusion of shooting.

One team of eight students from the same University, which must be affiliated to the B.U.S.A.
Combined aggregate of 80 shots - 40 at 50 metres, 40 at 100 yards.

for the QUARTET TROPHY(Holders: Southampton ‘A’)
Open to teams of four students form the same University.
Aggregate of 40 shots at 100 yards.
EVENT No. 3BRITISH UNIVERSITIES INVITATION LADIES TRIAD
for the TRIAD TROPHY(Holders: St. Andrews)
Open to teams of three lady students from the same University.
Combined aggregate of 40 shots - 20 at 50 metres, 20 at 100 yards.
EVENT No. 4BRITISH UNIVERSITIES INDIVIDUAL CHAMPIONSHIP
for the Col. T SUTTON TROPHY(Holder: P. Foster - Edinburgh)
Aggregate of 80 shots – 40 at 50 metres, 40 at 100 yards.

for the CALEDONIAN TROPHY(Holder: M. Smekal - Edinburgh)

Open to two students from the same University.
