Responsible for / : / No Direct Reports but may oversee Internships and volunteer placements
Overall Purpose of Job / : / To lead the development, management and implementation of WENP's aims and outcomes as detailed in the WENP work programme, under the direction of the WENP Board and Steering Group.
Main Responsibilities / : / · To provide the coordination for WENP's Board, Steering Group and Working Groups, enabling them to function in the most effective manner.
· To be an ambassador for WENP, liaising with a wide range of partner organisations and individuals across all sectors, including at senior levels and other LNPs.
· Secure funding, sponsorship and in-kind support for WENP programme activities.
· Write and produce WENP reports, responses to relevant local and national consultations and Annual Review.
· Manage and deliver projects, including outsourcing contractors as required.
· Provide support and work closely with the Chair and other active Board members in developing future strategy, initiatives and events.
· To lead on wider communications and share best practice, including overseeing website content and social media.
2. JOB SPECIFICATION
Management and Supervision / : / · Coordinate WENP Board meetings and Steering Group meetings with associated administration between partners and working groups.
· Coordinate and contribute to WENP's working groups, delivering tangible outputs and updating our publicly available work programme.
· Support the delivery the WENP strategy and work programme.
Accountability and Resources / : / · Produce reports, papers and data to support WENP's work.
· Respond to relevant national and local consultations, representing the views of the partnership.
· Organise, publicise and co-ordinate WENP stakeholder meetings and Annual Conferences.
· Manage the planning, monitoring and day to day control of the WENP budget.
· Secure funding, sponsorship and in-kind support for WENP programme activities.
Job Impact / : / · Represent the WENP at external meetings and through talks and presentations.
· Lead the communication and promotion of WENP through the websites, newsletters and social media.
Independence and Judgement / : / · Provide a lead contact for WENP, able to deal with enquiries and where appropriate, speak authoritively and act as an ambassador on behalf of WENP on a range of issues.
· Keep abreast of key issues and developing trends affecting the natural environment including funding, planning, health and wellbeing and business.
· Comprehend and process complex information across a range of technical topics.
People and Contacts / : / · Act as the central liaison point for the WENP Board, Steering Group, Working Groups and Stakeholder Forum.
· Act as a key contact point for DEFRA, Natural England and others in relation to the WENP.
Creativity and Innovation / : / · Make connections between different disciplines and different stakeholders, bringing them together to develop new ideas and find innovative solutions.
· Develop creative project, fundraising and business opportunities.
Working Conditions / : / · The role is based at the AWT Head Office, but involves frequent travel around the West of England area, regularly ‘hot desking’ across the Unitary Authorities and other partners as appropriate.
