1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE:- Mrs. Fraser, Ms. Ornithari, Mr. Tomkins
2. DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST:- none
3. OPEN FORUM:-
Mr Prudham was concerned about dogs on the Playing field during the Clapham Show. Chair confirmed that the Show publicity had advised that dogs are not permitted on the Field and he had asked several dog owners not to bring their animals onto the Field. Dogs on the Field were covered by the bylaws and Trust agreed to review at October meeting.
4. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING:-
The minutes of the meeting held on 21st July 2015, which had been circulated, were approved by those present and signed by the Chairman.
5. CLERK’S REPORT:- none
6. MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:- none
7. PLAYING FIELD:-
a) proposal to construct new Village Hall on Playing Field
The garage sale had raised £148.00 for the new build fund but sellers had made little profit & Mrs. Hurley suggested that one sale a year was sufficient. A fund raising quiz would be held 02.10.15.
b) pruning of trees adjacent to Highbury Grove
Residents and football teams had requested trees behind Highbury Grove be trimmed as they are overshadowing gardens and overhanging the pitch.
Clerk had received one quotation for £200 + VAT to reduce the trees by 30% and awaiting a second.
Proposed by Mr. Hurst, seconded by Mr. Langley that Clerk be authorised to accept the lowest quotation
Agreed
c) repairs to wetpour surfacing
Clerk had received quotations to repair edging and a 2m² hole for £3426, £4,075.76 plus an additional 646.20 + VAT for fencing if required and £6,768 including replacing wooden kerbs with concrete edging
Clerk noted that the base of the wetpour under the climbing frame is degrading and further repairs are likely to be needed.
Cllr. Walker had offered to fund the repairs from her Ward Fund. The Bedford BC scheme would overlay the existing surface with a new sand-filled carpet which could prolong the life of the surfacing and would be more vandal resistant and more cost effect than replacing a whole surface. The estimated cost would be £5,175 to £7,475. Cllr. Walker to chase Bedford BC for a detailed quotation and Trust to reconsider at October meeting.
