Compensation Technical Workgroup

Membership Recruitment Opportunity

In July 2017, Governor Inslee created a proviso to establish a child care workforce development technical workgroup, called the Compensation Workgroup, to develop recommendations for the Legislature. The Compensation Workgroup legislative report will cover topics including how to:

  • Increase child care workforce wages
  • Reduce turnover
  • Enable child care providers to recruit more qualified educators
  • Maintain the diversity of the current workforce

The Workgroup will include a total of thirteen members including representatives from state agencies, tribal, and local early learning communitypartners.

In selecting members for this committee, we will be considering the following criteria:

  • Meets employment/position requirements
  • Can commit to attending up to four full day in-person meetings, participating in semimonthly webinars, and other activities needed to produce the legislative report
  • First in-person meeting:December 13, 2017. The remainder will be scheduled.
  • Webinars: 2nd and 4th Mondays of each month from 2-3 PM beginning January 8, 2018. We will modify this schedule as needed to accommodate the work and recognized holidays.
  • Knowledge, interest, and experience in the specific areas to be addressed by the report
  • Represents diverse communities (linguistic, cultural, race/ethnicity, rural/urban, geographic, etc.)
