10TH ANNUAL FIREFIGHTER’S COMPETITION
The White Lake Water Festival Committee will hold a FIREFIGHTER’S COMPETITION in conjunction with the White Lake Water Festival to be held May 18, 2008.
Scheduled Team Events: Where’s the Water, Bucket Brigade, Incident Command & Barrel Fight
Entry Fee will be $50.00 per team, limited to two 5-man teams per department. Entry fee includes one T-shirt for each participant up to 5 participants any alternates WILL NOT GET SHIRTS. If your department would like to participate, please return the enclosed entry form by May 12, 2008. *We will only allow 20 teams to participate. *NOTE – *you will be ask for entry fee after confirmation of application* The Tough Man Challenge will be a separate event. The entry fee for it will be $20.00 per person and the 1st place winner will also receive $50.00. *Also there will only be 30 applicants allowed to compete in the tough man competition.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION:
Event organizers, staff, property owners and the Elizabethtown-White Lake Chamber of Commerce will not be responsible for accidents, injuries, or liabilities. All events are considered as a training exercise for liability and workman’s compensation matters. Judges will be responsible for final decisions for all events.
Unsportsmanlike or misconduct will be grounds for disqualification, and will be the decision of the judges. Team captain must make all protest to judges, and event organizers may make the final decision if necessary.
*All entries must be signed to insure release forms are complete by team members.
Events will begin at 0800 hrs. promptly on Sunday May 18, 2008 at the Old White Lake Airport across from White Lake Motel & Camp Ground on Hwy 701 north, White Lake, NC
**Sign in begins at 0715 hrs. The events will begin after opening ceremony and invocation. All participating departments are invited to bring one of their apparatus if they wish to for display. Concessions will be available for purchase from the White Lake Fire Department and all proceeds will go to them, ABSOLUTELY no grills or other cooking appliances will be allowed this year, let’s all be kind and courteous and help the Department out please. Water Festival events begin on Friday May 16, 2008 so please make plans now to bring the entire family and join the fun filled weekend at beautiful White Lake.
