P3 The committee engaged Sue Burns to run the Appreciative Enquiry Programme at Synod if the decision was made to go ahead.

It was moved and agreed that the Diocesan Council Minutes of 17 May 2016 as amended be signed as a true and correct record. (Chair)

Reports:
Discipleship Committee Chris’ written reportinformed thatthe application regarding variance of 2016 funding from St John’s College Trust Board for Ministry Educator/Bishop was still waiting for a response.
The 2017 Application for funding has been completed and sent. This may need to be reviewed once the future direction is clearer.
Ministry Conference will be led by Paul Dyer with 48 people registered to attend.
Boundaries Workshops for the next three years will be worked on by the Ministry Officer. Connectible delivery of content will be taken over by StraNdZ National Children’s Worker Diana Langdon. Sue Burns has agreed to help in running an appreciative enquiry process at Synod on the Sunday afternoon. +Kelvin will be talking about the Anglican Studies Programme and regional delivery with St John’s College personnel. The Conference / Symposium on Gender Issues will not now happen as +Kelvin feels unable to forward this event before his retirement. The committee agreed to keep this on their agenda with the possibility of such an event happening in 2017.

Mission Committee Anne reported that she had sent the questionnaire to Ven Damon Plimmer for the Central Otago Archdeaconry Meeting on 17 May, but had only received the completed form from Wanaka. Holy Trinity Gore had answered the questionnaire at their Ministry Area Committee Meeting on Tuesday 24 May and she had spoken about the questionnaire at the Southland Archdeaconry Meeting on Tuesday 7 June with representatives from all parishes except Western Southland present taking a questionnaire to fill in. Milton have arranged for her to join them on Sunday 7 August following their morning service.
Meetings have been requested by Otago Peninsula, Port Chalmers, Taieri, All Saints Dunedin and these dates need to be confirmed.
Social Transformation Committee Michael reported that they plan to meet with staff and residents at Parata Residence, South Centre and TakitimuHouse.
Stewardship Committee Ginny reported that she had sent the financial report to Diocesan Council members
Health & Safety: ongoing
Property: Athol Church is in the process of being transferred to the diocese, before being sold.
Lumsden Vicarage has been sold for $85,000 with a new sub-division title being drawn up.
Green Island Church and property and SouthLink Health are considering a redevelopment programme.

It was moved that Gore and Districts revert to being a parish from the date ofinstallation of Rev’d Gary Griffith Smith as Vicar. Anne/Judy Agreed

- Mossburn Church has been secularised and will be sold
- Lumsden and Waikaia wish to become local churches
- Athol Church will close following a letter from +Kelvin, and then be sold.
- Balfour Church will remain as a local church for two years, then be re-evaluated
