Dear potential counselor,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Learn & Serve (L&S) summer counselor. Our L&S summer training gives youth a holistic view of the world and challenges them to explore how God is calling us to not just live, but serve. Every summer roughly 600 students ages 12-18 visit our 176-acre campus to learn through interactive programming, simulations and training. After receiving a global view, we send them back to love their local communities and serve others.
Since 1979 SIFAT has trained leaders in 90 different countries around the world. Drawing from these 35 years of international mission experience, L&S summer training strives to challenge and empower its participants during their time on our campus. This involves inviting participants to step out of their comfort zone, to experience God in a way that encourages serving God by serving His people.
We are looking for enthusiastic, Spirit-filled people who are ready to impact the youth of America through God. As a member of the L&S summer staff, you will be challenged with the opportunity to teach, serve and explore this idea of loving the way God has called us to, while strengthening your relationship with God and growing in your walk as a servant of Christ.
We are excited that you are interested and can’t wait to hear from you! Please contact me at or call at (256) 396-2015 if you have any questions about the L&S summer counselor position.

Campus Program Manager
About SIFAT:
Servants in Faith and Technology (SIFAT) is an international Christian nonprofit organization that merges faith and appropriate technology for the purpose of enabling international community leaders to go back to their countries and train their own people who are struggling to meet their basic needs of food, water and shelter. Since its foundation in 1979, SIFAT has trained community leaders from 90 countries around the world. We have a 176 acre campus in Lineville, AL that serves as our “home base”. On our campus we hold two annual trainings to equip these international community leaders.
L&S Summer Counselor:
Being L&S summer counselor is a very challenging, but rewarding experience! As a counselor, you will be stretched mentally, physically and spiritually. We are looking for counselors that are mature in their faith and are capable of modeling a lifestyle of love and service to the 7-12 grade students who attend. While fulfilling the role of a L&S summer counselor you will gain valuable experience in things like;
•Appropriate technology such as water purification, sustainable agriculture, and fuel efficient cook stoves.
•Teaching appropriate technology to North Americans.
•Working with international community leaders from around the world.
•Teaching, leading, fostering, encouraging and learning from youth and young people from around the United States.
•Working with young people with the same passions for bridging the gap between students here in America and our brothers and sisters around the world.
SIFAT offers first year L&S summer counselors a weekly salary of $175 and an increase of $10/week for each year on staff. (For example: 2nd year staff are paid $185/week, 3rd year staff are paid $195/week, etc.)
