Meeting Minutes
Attendance: Great parent turnout - thank you all.
Tryouts
- 2/29/16 - tryouts begin (3pm-5:30pm)
- Your player must be registered ($150 - see links on website) before tryouts begin
- 68 players will be kept across Freshman, Sophomore, JV and Varsity teams
- After tryouts and team rosters are made, players will be told what position they will play and expectations for each
Schedules
Team schedules are up on the website now.
Spring Break:
- No games for Freshmen, Sophomores or JV.
- Varsity traveling to Arizona
Arizona trip (Varsity):
- 4 games in Phoenix over spring break
- Trying to get Chicago Cubs VIP tour or ASU tour
DC/CV game:
- at Double Angels Field, 7pm, 4/29
- Tailgate starting at 5:30pm
Coors Field game:
- Last varsity game, 11am, May 5th
Volunteers
- Need volunteers for concessions, announcer and scoreboard
- Once teams are made, signup online under Schedules tab

Budget is now online on our website ( SaberCat Diamond Club tab)
We have a budget for around $54,000
Behavior
An incident was addressed by Coach Diaz with the kids.
Those involved apologized and the issue is considered resolved and expectations understood.
Coach Diaz does not tolerate treating others wrongly.
- We all represent Castle View and are expected to act accordingly to other teams, parents, coaches, players and umpires
- Coach will not tolerate parents talking about other kids' playing time. It is not fair to the kids. Talk to the Coach if you have an issue.
Fundraisers
Rockies Tickets:
- Forms have been distributed at meeting. If you do not have one, you can go online (Documents -> 2016 Rockies Tickets Form)
- Each player is responsible for 18 tickets - $720
- $27,000 is due to Colorado Rockies for tickets in April.
- Forms and money DUE Thursday, March 17th (date of next SaberCat parent meeting)
Banners:
- Due by March 5th
- Banner documents located online (Documents -> Advertisement Agreement and Banner Petition Letter)
- Please take documents when soliciting businesses
- To minimize repeat solicitation, refer to document "Banner Spreadsheet - Businesses Approached"
SnapRaise:
- 10 or 20 email addresses required per player (qty still TBD)
- Dates: 3/9 and 3/11
USA Cleaners near theater:
- Pickup USA Cleaner coupon at Athletic window
- $50 for $70 worth of service ($10 goes to CV after Prom, $40 you specify to go to CV Baseball program)
Field Maintenance:
Visitors Pitching mound is completed. Special thanks to Sam Hraby, Kolby Bonato, Troy Nash and Kirk Mitze for their involvement.
Coaches:
Coaches were introduced:
- Freshmen - Brad Blacker
- Sophomores - Josh Hathcock/Dave Rodriguez
- JV - Ryan Callahan/Jeff Broussley
- Varsity- Coach Diaz/Kolby Bonato
Summer Baseball:
2 programs through CV....lower levels through Sandlot...at $1000-$1200
CV program cannot accomodate 60+ kids in program.
Summer goal is 1) get kids better for spring program 2) get kids in front of other coaches/schools
- 18U/19U (Varsity) and 17U/18U (JV)
- Varsity will travel to Panama City for ACC-SEC tournament (airfare not included)
- JV will play strong schedule
- Sandlot will play tournament games (maybe 1 out-of-state)
