About the product

Mexican tortilla is a round shaped flatbread made of corn or wheat flour, which is the basis for different Mexican food: burritos, tacos, fajitas, etc. Similar dishes with various fillings stuffed in the flatbread are widely offered in fast food outlets, restaurants and at home.

Mexican national product tortilla has many admirers in Central America and the United States, overcame the international bounderies, it has actively won European and Asian markets.

Tortilla is often served instead of bread for other dishes (for example, chili con carne).

They are used as the basisi of pies, rolls with fillings, canape and sandwiches. They are eaten fried or baked, served without anything or rolled anf filled with variety of fillings.

Tortilla production process

Flour is loaded to the flour sifter 1, to which a dough dish 3 is preliminary rolled. The quantity of sifted flour is weighed on the scales 2. After that the operator adds water and all necessary ingredients in the required proportion to the dough dish and rolls it in the dough kneading machine 3.

The required water quantity can be measured by the water batcher 5. After the dough kneading the operator moves it to the bunker of divider-rounder 7 which produces rounded dough pieces equal in weight. Dough pieces are manually put on the accumulating trays 8 from which they are fed to the press 9. Press forms a piece of the required thickness and shape which is ready for baking in the oven 10. The oven consists of two tiers. The first one is intended for baking, the second one is intended for cooling of the finished product.

The final stage of tortilla production is a transportation of cooled products to the stacker-counter 9for two tables with the help of branch conveyor 11.
