Peer Teaching Assignment

SEDUC 4800S

Adolescent Social Studies Methods

Randy L. Hoover, Instructor

à NAME: ______

Your assignment is to teach a 20-minute lesson to the students in this methods class exemplifying the elements of empowering teaching as we have defined it, discussed it, and studied it in this class. You may not go longer than 20 minutes, but may end earlier if your lesson is finished as you planned it. There is no role-playing of adolescent students; each learner is to be considered as a peer, being no more, no less than just who they really are. As your instructor, I am not to be considered part of the group of learners. Also, we will have a short reflective discussion at the end of each peer teach to examine and value the lesson and its components.

Þ  Your goal is to demonstrate your ability to apply the appropriate concepts, principles, and ideas taught in this class to all elements of your peer teaching assignment.

Þ  Using this Peer Teaching Cover Sheet from the class-materials download site, put your name on it, and attach your lesson plan and any lesson-related materials to it. You are to use the same daily lesson plan format as given in the Thematic Unit Plan assignment.
