ENABLING OBJECTIVE:N/A
NOTES TO THE INSTRUCTOR1.If there are more than 15 cadets, the class should be divided into two or more squads.
2.Instruct the cadets about going down on one knee when feeling faint.
3.Sizing in two ranks does not have to be taught unless the squad regularly forms up in two
ranks. Otherwise, mention to the cadets that it is an option available when sizing a squad.
4.It is highly recommended that you use senior cadets to demonstrate both movements at the
beginning of the class. A minimum of fifteen cadets is needed for a suitable demonstration
ORDER1.Use the positions the cadets assumed when they fell-in.
MOVEMENTWHAT:In this lesson you will learn how to size in one, two and three ranks.
WHY:It is important to execute sizing correctly because it allows a squad to look more uniform and also allows for the allotment of designated positions within a squad.
WHERE:Sizing in one, two and three ranks will be used at the LHQ and at Summer Training Centres, when squads of cadets are formed up for the first time.
PERFORMANCE CHECK1.At the end of the lesson each of you will be required to execute sizing in one, two and three ranks and will be checked independently.
