Who:
Chad Brown, who grew up in nearby Mechanicville, is currently leading the Saratoga meet with 34 wins heading into the final week, possibly en route to his first training title at the Spa. The former assistant to legendary trainer Bobby Frankel has trained numerous BC winners in his eight years of training including Lady Eli, Zagora, Dayatthespa, Stephanie’s Kitten, and Wavell Avenue. A finalist for the last two Eclipse Awards for leading trainer, he currently trains top turf runner Flintshire, a repeat winner this Summer at Saratoga, among a strong contingency. At the Post Live is excited to have him back for his third appearance.
Steve Byk is a broadcaster who currently hosts the extremely popular daily three-hour horse racing broadcast on SiriusXM ‘At The Races.’ He fell in love with the game after going racing with his grandfather when he was only 11 years old. Byk is also a partial owner of Dee Tee Stables, which helped introduce over 100 people into horse ownership. While he has never before appeared on At the Post Live, Andy Serling is a weekly guest on Byk’s show. This appearance will give Steve the opportunity to make up for over a dozen years of Andy’s weekly abuse.
Andy Beyer, a legend in the horse racing world, helped create legions of horseplayers with his numerous books, beginning with Picking Winners in 1975. While he recently retired after decades writing for the Washington Post, Beyer is perhaps best known for creating the Beyer Speed Figures, which appear in the past performances in the Daily Racing Form. His writing and handicapping have influenced many generations of horseplayers.
