Your Coon Lake community lake organization, Coon Lake Improvement Association (CLIA) is a non-profit entity and exists for all of us to act as stewards for Coon Lake.
CLIA informs the membership of current events, receives input and direction from the lakeshore property owners, recruits volunteers to work toward solving issues at hand and to develop a sense of belonging to Coon Lake and its’ neighbors. You may have been a CLIA member in the past or are new to the area. In either case, we welcome your interest in being an active part of your community. We hope that you will consider becoming a member.
Following are some of the good reasons to join CLIA:
- Two annual meetings with a social hour and food prior to the business meeting
- One summer picnic
- A minimum of twopublished copies of "Coon Lake Living" newsletters yearly
- Periodic email updates
- A dedicated board and committee team that meet a minimum of once monthly
- A group of volunteersworking closely with the DNR on lake quality issues
- Water quality plan
- Aquatic vegetation surveys and lake vegetation management plan (LVMP)
- A group of volunteers working with the DNR on fishery issues
- Access to weekly meat raffles
- Local area business discounts
- Access to custom Coon Lake apparel, calendars and other Coon Lake items, Representation atCLIDMeetings
- Representation at many government functions related to Coon Lake
- Volunteers working on grant awards to lower overall association and district costs relating to the Lake Vegetation Management Plan
- Coordination of the annual July 4th boat parade
- Coordination of golf and other social events
- And, business sponsors getadvertisements in "Coon Lake Living"
Annual membership for a single membership is $20.00, $25.00 for household, and $50.00 for a business sponsorship.If you are interested, please submitthe Coon Lake Improvement Association Membership Form available by the link on this page and return it with your dues. Membership is a very important component of sustaining the lake associationand demonstrates to the DNR that the residents of Coon Lake support the efforts ofCLIA and that of theCoon Lake Improvement District (CLID).
Please join us at the CLIA General Membership Meetings on the third Thursday in May and the third Thursday in October at the Coon Lake Community & Senior Center, 182 Forest RD, in Coon Lake Beach.
