ALL / Peterhead Academy Debating Society
There will be a new Debate Club on Thursdays with Ms Tapping and Mr Barber in A15. We will be debating a variety of subjects decided upon democratically by the club. All year groups are welcome initially and if we have enough interest we will run a Junior club (S1-S3) and a Senior club (S4-S6). Bring your lunch to Room A15 and join the Peterhead Academy Debating Society.

ALL / Inter-House Writing Group
We are holding a writing competition open to all years. There is no defined theme or structure (e.g. a short story, play, poem, etc.) but must be no longer than 1300 words. Entries will be taken between 10th February and 18th March to the English department (name, year group and house must be stated on the entry). House points will be awarded accordingly. For a reminder of details, see the English department or posters around the school.

S5 / Nuffield Research Placements
Any pupil who is interested in following a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, particularly looking at careers related to Engineering field research, can apply for a summer placement to gain experience and an insight into this career path. Closing date is Friday 26th February. See Miss Loudon in Technical for further information.

S5 – S6 / Peterhead Academy School Ball 2016
Pupils are reminded that they should all arrive at Peterhead Academy for 5.15pm on Tuesday 16th February. Buses will depart at 5.30pm sharp. Pupils are reminded to check the lists on the noticeboard at the end of the Link Corridor where prelim times were previously displayed. Pupils should register with their allocated member of staff before boarding the bus. The bus will depart from the venue at 11.30pm and transport pupils back to the Academy. Pupils are responsible for making travel arrangements to and from the Academy.
