JOB TITLE:Teacher

JOB PURPOSE:To take responsibility for learning, assessment and welfare

of their students working in teams within the Academy.

ACCOUNTABLE TO:Line Manager within Staff Structure

KEY CORPORATE ACCOUNTABILITIES

Have a positive approach when working with all stakeholders associated with the Academy.

Follow and adhere to all routines, expectations and policies implemented by the Governing body and Executive Principal/Head of School to the best of your ability. Take whole school responsibility when necessary/required.

To be a positive team player when working within the relevant teams.

To maintain a high level of professionalism (a role model to students) when working in relevant teams and with all stakeholders associated with the Academy.

To be positive about the Academy and the vision and values it strives towards.

The post holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people with whom he/she comes into contact will be to adhere to and ensure compliance with the School’s Child Protection Policy Statement at all times. If, in the course of carrying out the duties of the post the post holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safeguarding or welfare of children in the school he/she must report any concerns to his/her Line Manager or the School’s Child Protection Officer.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for the student’s performance and quality of learning andassessment for your classes.
  • Responsible for the students within their Learning Guidancegroup for their welfare and general wellbeing in the Academy.
  • Responsible for following whole school policy, routines and procedures set up by the Governors and Executive Principal/Head of School.
  • To plan and deliver lessons to meet the 10 expectations at all times to the best of your ability.
  • To plan and deliver lessons according to the Academy’slesson plan consistent for the whole school format.
  • To use assessment systems and strategies to monitor students performance using and keeping Academy data systems up-dated.
  • To deliver Learning Guidance sessions to maintain excellent mentoring for your tutor group members contacting parents/carers using any form of communication once half-termly.
  • To use ICT withinthe Academy framework effectively and efficiently to benefit the learning of students and communication between staff members.
  • To use the managed learning environment SIMS according to the Academy’s policy and guidance for different areas within the Academy framework.
  • To be responsible for any learning environment you teach or work in, leaving it wholly organised and ready for someone else to use, when delegated a room to maintain a classroom to all the guidelines issued.
  • To use resources and nationals effectively and efficiently to safeguard the financial viability of the Academy’s budget.
  • To deliver personalised and individualised learning for all students through a range of opportunities using differential materials.
  • To be positive while working with others and to maximise every communication opportunity whilst working in a team.
  • To use assessment for learning strategies including target and data to maximise student performance in lessons and as a Learning Guide.
  • To mark and respond to students work, including assessments and Independent Learning (homework) in accordance with the assessment for learning policy, keeping records and inputting whole school systems.
  • To contribute positively to any form of Academy accountability to impact your performance and student achievement.
