  • Creation:Are you serving the purpose for which you were created?
  • Fall:Have you ever grieved over the wretched fall and your original sin?
  • Curse:Has the dreadful curse of sin and death been removed from you?
  • Promised Salvation:Have you embraced the promised blessing of salvation through Jesus Christ?

Exodus: “Misery, deliverance, and gratitude”

  • Bondage & Exodus:Have you been delivered from the bondage of the world?
  • Wilderness:Are you a pilgrim journeying to the heavenly Canaan?
  • The Law:Do you delight in the law of God from your heart?
  • Tabernacle:Is communion with God your desire, delight, and the upper-most longing of your soul?

Leviticus: “The blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ”

  • Tabernacle Offerings:Is Jesus Christ your Righteousness, your Substitute, your Sacrifice, your Savior?
  • Laws of Purification:Are you sensible of your need for the blood of Jesus?

Numbers: “The sin of unbelief and the rejection of Christ”

  • Manna & Water out of the Rock:Are you daily feeding on the Bread of Life and the Water of Life?
  • At the Border:Do you desire the good land or have you hardened your heart and are still refusing it today through your unbelief?

Deuteronomy: “Whole-hearted lovefor God”

  • Moses’ Speeches at the Border:Are you at this very moment prepared to enter the heavenly Canaan?
  • The LORD is One:Are you worshipping the One, only, true God or are you serving many gods?
  • The Law Repeated:Do you love the LORD God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength?

Joshua: “Victory through Jesus Christ”

  • Conquest of Canaan:Are you obtaining the victory over the powers of sin and Satan through the strength of Christ?

Judges: “The need for a King”

  • Failure to drive out the Canaanites:Are you engaged in spiritual warfare or have you allowed sin and Satan to have a place in your heart?

Ruth: “The redeeming love of Christ”

  • The Choice of Ruth:Have you been redeemed [bought] with the precious blood of Jesus Christ?

I & II Samuel: “The promise of the eternal kingdom”

  • Choosing Saul/Rejecting God:Do you desire God to be King over you?
  • God’s Chosen (David):Do you love the kingship of Christ?

I Kings / I Chronicles: “The Son of David”

  • Temple built by Solomon:Is your heart the temple of the Holy Ghost?
  • The Promised King:Is the Son of David your Lord and your King?

Esther: “The providence of God”

  • God is in Control:Is the providential hand of God a comfort to your soul?

Job: “The true fear of God”

  • Job’s Fear of God:Do you hate sin?Why do you hate sin?
  • Do you fear God for what He gives or for who He is?

Psalms: “The language of a living soul”

  • Prayer & Praise:Did you ever begin to worship God?

Proverbs: “The wisdom of God”

  • The Beginning of Wisdom:Are you truly wise?
  • Seeking Wisdom:Have you sought and found Wisdom?
  • Proverbs 23:26:Does Christ have your heart?

Ecclesiastes: “The vanity of life apart from God”

  • Grasping for the Wind:Are you trying to hold on to vanity?
  • Living with Purpose:Does your life fulfill its purpose for which it was created?
  • Do you fear, worship, reverence, and adore God?

Song of Solomon: “The love of the heavenly Bridegroom to His bride”

  • The Church:Are you the bride of the Lord Jesus Christ?
  • The Heavenly Bridegroom:Is Christ precious to you?
  • Is Jesus altogether lovely to you?Do you view Him as the most excellent, desirable, fairest among ten thousand?
