Course Description:
United States History is taught in two sections. Students in the eighth grade study the period from Colonial America to the Reconstruction Era following the Civil War, 1760’s to the 1870’s. Students in the ninth grade continue with industrialization of the 1880’s, our growth as a world power to the events of the present.

Important Policies:
1.Students MUST be in his/her seat quietly working when the beginning bell rings. You should immediately start on the bell ringer, followed by the daily objective. All these tasks can be completed on notebook paper in the designated section of your three-ring binder. On most days when there is not an announced test, homework or an in-class assignment will be graded and/or a quiz given. All assignments/homework is due at the beginning of class andWILL NOTbe accepted later!
3.It is YOUR responsibility to speak to me about work missed because of an absence; only work missed during an EXCUSED absence will be permitted to make up. This should be done BEFORE class the FIRST day of your return. Make-up tests MUST be taken immediately upon your return to school.
4.Consequences will be enforced for breaking the rules, including verbal warnings, a student – teacher conference, a parent – teacher conference
