/ By Whom / By When1. CAPTAINS REPORT / Competition Winners: Thanks to all who took part in the last 3 events. They were a great success.
Arden 4 Nations: All the new players have been divided betweenIreland ,Scotland,
and Wales as England had sufficient players.Aylesford 4 Nations- Captains and Vice captains have been appointed and team sheet put up
Charity Day: I went to Aldermans Green School(Steve James is Head) in Coventry to present to pupils the footballs and rugby balls that thanks to Steve Bennett’s efforts were donated by Ford. An article about FOA support for charities should appear in Cov. Evening Telegraph.
Captains Night: Arrangements for the evening.(Flowers, timings, auction, cost, veggies, band, etc.)
Again both courses in excellent condition-any news on the markers for the Arden flags. RR: New Year / RR / Jan 07
Nov. Arden medal –What can we learn? PG: Going forward for Winter Competition to count for handicap reductions (Qualifiers) the course should not be delayed by frost. Frost delays automatically change the status of the competition to a non-qualifier. All winter competitions should be played from the yellow tees. / PG / Nov 06
Any more thoughts on mementos for club champions and major winners. ALL: Agreed all Major winners, club championship winners and captains should receive a crystal item. Item to be decided next month / ALL / Dec 06

/ By Whom / By When2. LADY CAPTAINS REPORT / Mixed Open: The course was fabulous and the catering superb. Definitely needs to be earlier next year as the light was failing for the last few couples who came in. Although in a break with tradition, I personally felt that the change to a Stableford format added to the enjoyment of the day and definitely helped with the speed of play (bearing in mind the situation with the light): A good call by Phil Gibson. I’m sure Grant and Janet will discuss the format further for next year. Thanks to Phil, Marc and JJ for their hard work prior to and on the day.
Ladies Open Meeting: Scheduled for Thursday evening to sort amongst other things the Winter League and Four Nations. I will report back any feedback at next month’s meeting.
Captain’s Night: To be oversubscribed for tickets is a luxurious problem to have; hopefully this high demand will secure the Arden Suite for Captain’s Night next year. I feel that if we had availability, we would have sold even more tickets.
Congratulations to all competition winners/team
October Medal / Julie Baker / All Competition & Medal Winners / Lynda Ward
Autumn Trophy / Julie Sajik / Texas Scramble / Gia Rhodes, Jean Warner, Lynda Ward, June Nash & Helen Orton
